Ninja 250 Air Filter and Air Box.. What you may not know!
มุมมอง 49K7 ปีที่แล้ว
I briefly show how to remove the air filter from a pre-gen ninja 250 (2007) for servicing. I also show the oil drain tube that allows accumulated oil to drain from the air box. All service you do to your bike is at your own risk! I am not responsible for any damage. This video is intended only as a guide.
Most efficient way to siphon gas from a junk car

Bought this lumina from a friend for parts and found out it had almost a full tank of gas! Best way I found to remove it and get it into my vehicle
Chrysler Sebring engine noise, please help!
มุมมอง 29K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Can anyone help identify this noise? It's a 98 Sebring with the 2.5 liter Mitsubishi v6.
Your filter element appears to be missing. That’s just the frame/screen pieces. The filter element itself goes between them.
I have a 2007 model trying to get it up and running cranks just tryna figure out where everything goes do you have a picture?
any body else feel like there on shrooms while watching this lol
Thought I was alone!
i own two of these bikes, pregen and a 2010, and both get about 60mpg as well.
what part of northeast ohio?
Youngstown
How to remove air box???
It's a lifter or push rod wore out that was simple
Video of changing air filter , with no air filter seen . Okay
It sounds like a bad lifter with a bent push rod. Those engines are noted to be sludge engines if you do not change the oil regularly like 2500 miles it builds up sludge and the oil pressure is not there so it's easy to wear out a lifter and bend a push rod. These engines will last forever if you don't get the sludge build-up.
That “loose piece” actually snaps in on the bottom where the foam filter goes in to hold it in place. If it’s loose and moving around you don’t have it in righr
Indeed. He doesn’t have or mention the actual filter element. Is he just riding around relying on the frame/screen without a filter?!
Neat post indormative
wow really random, i was just today messing around trying to get my fuel tank, petcock, and carbs all routed up properly, also trying to do a CA evap emissions delete, i was looking around inspecting every fuel and vacuum hose i could see, i just happened to notice this same tube hanging down there today, i wondered why it was plugged up and removed the plug to see what would happen? about an ounce or two of oil came drizzling out of there luckily i had a vitamin water bottle next to me i had just finished drinking LOL, its good to know that it's not abnormal to have a bit of oil in there.
mines dont got spark bought new coil stater relay fuse box computer and is cranks but its dont turn on
Great video, thank you for the info
Found a fuck tone of oil in the bottom of mine… After it stopped running 💀😂
I love this, thank you
Thanks, gonna take a look at mine when I get the chance, had no clue it existed
hey idk if your still active but i would love to ask you some questions
Bikes still in the family ask away
@@sk8rwht so my bike is having idle issues carbs look clean just changed the spark plugs and put new gas in it just bought the bike about a week ago could it be possible that its only running on one cylinder would that cause that problem??? my uncle says it sounds like it is running on one.
Do you have exhaust coming out of both pipes and spark on both plugs?
@@sk8rwht i didnt check if i had spark on both plugs but i definitely had exhaust out of both pipes i took it to a shop here where im at and they said i need a full carb rebuild and the bike wasnt running lean enough idk they said they will fix it so hopefully they do 900 dollars later
Just picked my 07 up with only 11,600 kms. Its has not been started for two years and am having a challenge atm. Otherwise its is perfect condition and cannot wait to ride it.
thanks for that tip.
I have a 2003 model. I did not know that. Thank you for that info. Gonna go check mine now..
I have a 2013 ninja 300 leaking from an open hole which looks like it was made for oil to drip out the back by tire. Just replaced oil filter and put new oil and still leaks. Any ideas?
Brother I feel your pain I’m having the same problem I don’t know Where it coming from
Thank You!!!
And if theres fuel coming out that same hose??? Thats my issue
El recipiente blanco es de líquido refrigerante?
Sounds like a lifter is my guess too
Thank you
I just picked up a 2006 with 8800 miles. I could not figure out where the oil was coming from, never heard of a hose like that. Pulled the plug and it drained oil like mad, no more oil leaking. Thanks for the tip!
I have oil coming from my air box too! Except I don’t have a plug .. I’m going to pull the box drain it change the filter and see if that helps
Did u ever find solution i have sane car and i love it pls tell me its not the rod
Thank you
Thanks for the video! I did not know this. I learned something new. I have the same bike, the same year and the same color. Do you still have it?
Kelly Dragna yes I do!
@@sk8rwht Great! I will post some video of mine and send you the link. I can tell you are not in California like myself because you do not have the EVAP hoses connected to the fuel tank.
Kelly Dragna Quite the opposite, northeast Ohio
Hey man, after the bracket you take off first, what is the actual name for the carb cover you just called 'cover'. Thanks !
Joshua Belmar well thats the air box so the air box lid/cover
ever get water in the airbox when it rains?
I took a sledgehammer to mine to get it off the bike.
I just got into riding about 2 months ago, and I got my 2007 ninja 250 for $1050, any maintenance you'd suggest for it?
Frontline Gaming I always keep the chain clean and oiled and check the slack, make sure you have GOOD tires that aren’t too old, and keep up on the oil changes/level. Other than that I wash it. It’s a pretty well built machine
@@sk8rwht damn thanks man I wasnt expecting a response that fast youre amazing bro, any kind of chain lube youd recommend?
I got mine for $1100 with only 3k miles on it, it's basically brand new.
Update. The rain is falling off my gas tank and under the lip of my seat and going into my airbox. Why is that happening to mine ? But no one else's ? 99 ex
I work at a scooter and bike shop and one of our customers has been having this issue, it seems to be getting into the carb from the air-box. he said he had some luck tucking weather stripping in between the tank and the seat
Keep the fun facts. "I think most people wouldn't know " things coming.
Just picked up an 03 zzr good tip I will have a look.
I just got a 2005 Ninja 250, same style. I believe that tube that you pointed out as an oil drain tube on my bike has no plug in it. I guess that may explain some of the oil spots I've found under my bike or just inside the bottom of my plastic. I'll have to see if I can find that tube and get a small plug in it.
I think there are 2 fuel lines because the fuel circulates back to the gas tank. This maintains constant flow and pressure of fuel to the engine. One is supply from fuel pump and the other is a return line back to tank.
Hey on ninja 250 the fuel overflow hole is clogged should i stick a needle in there to unclog it?
I would try it
Compressed air. And clean your tank.
Do you still have the Ninja. I have the same Ninja 250, the same year, and same color.
Kelly Dragna yes I do it’s always been a great bike
I just got a new battery for mine and changed the clutch cable.
Me too. Post more videos please
Cool. Do I have to turn the ignition switch on after I put on the jumper wire on relay?
Al Schuch no it will activate the fuel pump as soon as you connect
Wow, this is getting me dizzy.
I know this is an old video but its lifter noise, often happens when oil level is too low or the viscosity is too thick. Had the Cirrus and Stratus with the same engine that would start making that noise just prior to an oil change. They are overall GREAT motors. Just a pain to work on. Each had over 200k miles on them when I got rid of them. One I still even see driving around town.
A lot of times is caused from excessive wear of the timing belts & tensioner! Possibly Has jumped time on one of the timing gears!
The "puke tube."
I have the same exact car, 1998 Sebring convertible limited with the 2.5 V6. Mine was doing the same thing, same noise, started around the 120K mark, got worst. Easy fix, I did it myself, replace the hydraulic lifters, cost about $130 plus the valve cover gasket. Mine purrs now, very quiet, now pushing 180K miles.
