Most of the material in this channel deals with a narrow Engineering/CAE aspects of the Catia v5 and its reincarnation as an APP in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Generally speaking, this stuff is covered in courses that I teach in the University of Windsor at different levels. There are some miscellaneous topics which have also been uploaded.

A Correction! When I created the command for specifying the "length driven" entity in the prismatic joint, the two offset planes were not properly selected. This is why the cylinder is moving towards the center of rotation. It is easy to fix but I will leave it in your competent hands to modify it. My aplogies.

hello Professor, I saw your comment on Ata Khabaz CZM modeling video. in future you are going to make video on 3DExpereince. have you created any data related to it. i'm working on cohesive modeling on 3Dexperience platform. i'm facing some issue. So checking for solution. I will wait for your response.
Dear @sumitkumbhar, last May, my contact at Simulia told me that CZM was not yet available in 3DEXPERIEMCE's implementation. I asked the same question two months ago but have not heard back.
hello nader...can i you please send me your number
the instructions are very clear. I love how you explain every detailed features in the tabs thank you for making this high quality tutorial videos.
Thank you for your comment. I wish that I knew every single "tab", because I don't.

@naderzamani5752 i want to see spring compression and expansion in the mechanism but couldn't find any useful tutorial
@@HadidDesignWorks Dear HadidDesignWorks, keep in mind that the DMU Kinematics workbench is "Kinrmatics" ie, everything is rigid (no deformation). Compression of spring is a dynamic process. you have to use the appropriate software for it, such as Adams, Simpack, the old Working Model (now burried inside of MSC). Cannot di it with Catia.
@@naderzamani5752 is there anyone which can directly read catpart files because i do not like to export then import to other
u could have started at 13 minutes in
I agree alec.
Dear @VeeruN159. frequency caculations are associated with a part only. You cannot do frequency calculation for an assembly, it just does not make sense.
Sir, thanks for showing this. What are some points to keep in mind when we are trying to do frequency analysis on an assembly?
Thanks
Dr. Zamani, I am using 2021x version. I am unable to find beam load. Is there any other way to apply distributed load on the beam? Thanks!
Dr. Zamani, is this functionality available in R2021x version? If yes, how to obtain the forces in the truss members? Thanks!
Dear Sharvan, my guess is yes. I do not have access to the releases before R2024x. This is why I cannot say for sure. These were basic ABAQUS functionalities that were probably implemented.
Yes, I found it. It was hiding in the definitions icon. Thanks!
@@shravanbhadoria4104 Good.
Thanks Dr. Zamani!
Thank you for the great example. Do you have tips and tricks for selecting time increments when the mesh is finer?
Dear jsy3351, this is a static solution and the "time" is not the real time. In such problems, the initial time increment is fairly randome, but the automatic time stepping is used. The minimum time increment is inportant. In your erlier comment, yo mentioned that I used wrong contact selections. Can you elaborate please.
@@naderzamani5752 Thanks for the prompt reply. You selected both surfaces Master. You said you're going to select the gasket face as the slave but I think you misclicked it. So you did not define the slave surface there.
Thanks Prof. Zamani.
I am glad you found it useful.
23:39 you made wrong contact selections here anyway
Very helpful videos! Thank you

@@naderzamani5752 Do you have any videos on how to create conformal meshes?
@manu217 By conformation, do you mean "structured mesh". Personally, I have not heard of the "conformal" terminology.
Hello sir, i am getting so much help from your video. thank you very much. Now i'm curious about when i'm making curve using law and parallel, i need to choose curve that is completely on the support, then how can i make one when a curve is not on the surface(support)? Like lines propagating smoothly through 3 dimension. i'm using r2023 student catia and only can find law at parallel app.
Hi, I am glad that you are finding the video useful. There are some other videos for three-dimensional curves.
That seems to be a software bug and not the desired software behaviour. Thank you for spotting this, I've reported it to 3DS.
Thank you Alexandre, it took so much of my time.
Hi Professor, awesome video, learnt a lot. One thing I'd like to add is that the user can click on the formula button (at the bottom of the screen). There you can pick the parameters that are associated to the material and modify their value.
@alexandrefernandes6286 Dear Alexandre, I am glad you found it useful.
22:31 how to switch the orientation of the toolbar from vertical to horizontal
quick google search says press shift
I would like to know what's the certification this method has( Faa,Api,Astm)? I never found fatigue studio for resin and fiber can you indicate any?
Sorry, I do not know the answer to your question.
@1:25 How can we trust the calculation if the structure buckles ?
Linear buckling analysis is only a non-conservative estimate. It ignores many things such as imperfections due to geometry, loading, material flaws/ etc. I suggest that we look at a standard book on stress analysis where things are spelled out in more detail.
@@naderzamani5752 thank you for your effort.

Professor Zamani, is the course online? Coursera, EdX platform, anything of the sort?
Hello Aleksander, this is a third year summer course for mechanical engineering students at the University of Windsor in Canada.
I have question for you sir. Can we make generic assembly in catia with let's say 3 parts. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and activate and deactivate the parts with the help of excel or other means. Thanks in advaance
Dear Armit, my guesss is that you have to, you have to write a "Macro".
You are undoubtedly dedicated to your work related to catia.
Hi sir
Very good job ! Well done and thank you !
I am glad you found it useful.
Hi professor. Is this video part of a MOOC?
No Alexandre, it is for my students taking a first course of Mechanical Vibrations at the University of Windsor. The lectures are at 8:30 am and I am trying to make it easier for those who do not own an alarm clock.
Sorry, I meant a course in "Computer Aided Engineering".
Please explain active body control in car suspensions Sir. Thanks & regards.
Dear MRY, I will discuss your suggestion with "Aghaye Soroush" and we will put something together for this topic.
sharp edge...coarse mesh... mises values may differ significantly
You are absolutely correct. I tell the students about the Pricnciple of GIGI (Garbage In - Garbage Out). I tell them that this is how you do it in the software. The validity of the results depends on many factors that we are not disceting (in this course). They are cautioned that if you ignore those issues and do this kind of work for living, it will not be very long before receiving the pink slip.
I don't think you showed the fourth slide in the Powerpoint.
Ok, I will post it as an announcement on Brightspace. If I forget, please remind me in class.
Pouvez-vous faire svp une video qui montre comment traiter un problème de corrélation numérique entre deux logiciels ?
Dear Zakaria after I have this translated to English، I will try to get back to you. I am not sure what it says.
Ok, I see what you are saying, but do not undestand what you are asking, Can you be more descriptive? Give an example please.
@@naderzamani5752 hey Sir Nader, Thank you very for this intersting content. In fact, i have a subject untitled by '' correlation of crash simulation between Radioss/Ls-dyna for a volumic screw''. If you can a make a video to clarify how deal such type of problem. And tank you for all

Hello, your knowledge on this program is incredible, congratulations. I have problem I can't solve: I want to model and analyze a roller pushing on a piece of flat metal sheet. The roller is not moving freely, only moves against a piece of metal sheet fixed on one end, but the roller moves only in the direction towards the metal sheet, not laterally, not transversally. Just pushes on the sheet of metal, but, I can't figure out how to have the roller spin and actually roll on the sheet of metal. Instead the roller gets attached to it between meshes in contact. If I get the roller spin and move along on direction, it seems to work, but it pulls from the metal sheet, which is not correct. I'll really appreciate any help!!! thank you Nader.
Thank you for your kind words. It will be helpful if you had a hand drawn sketch for a better understanding of what is going on. Can send it to me to zamani@uwindsor.ca
Great video sir.

Thanks
Hello again, Dr. Zamani, Could you determine the reactions at any truss members, or assume we have a group of beams acting as a single solid carrying a load? I am interested in finding out the internal forces at a specific section. This information will be very helpful for sizing elements such as bolts or fillet welds in a section.
My question will be for both Catia v5 and Catia 3DX.
Hello hkazzaz, are you referring to (for example) axial member forces in a truss structure?
@@naderzamani5752 Let's say truss structure for now, can we get reaction forces at truss joint , Catia can provide reaction at the fixing but I am interested at a joint as we do when we draw free body diagram for a member
