Beth + Kayuh
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 26 ต.ค. 2024
I’m Beth and I live in a van with my best friend and dog, Kayuh. I grew up camping in my dad’s van, so when he passed away I decided to keep his dream alive. I built out a van of my own to adventure in and keep the tradition going.
Come live vicariously through me (and Kayuh) as I navigate life on the road as a solo-female traveler, just trying to live every day to the fullest and find my own healing along the way.

Starlink Mini Unboxing & Setup for Vanlife
I just got the Starlink Mini! In this video, I’ll do a complete unboxing, setup, and initial testing of the Starlink Mini. I'll also share what I have been using for interent before starlink, the pros and cons of the standard size vs the mini and why I ultimately chose the Mini over the standard model for vanlife.

Why I Gave Up Everything to Live in a Van - Keeping my Dad's Dream Alive Through Vanlife
มุมมอง 2.7K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey friends! I’m Beth, and this is my vanlife journey with my adventure buddy, Kayuh. Vanlife is in my blood-my dad was an OG weekend warrior vanlifer, and after he passed away, I built out my own van to keep his legacy alive. During the pandemic, my mom and I took his van on the road to find healing, and I fell in love with the lifestyle. So I bought a van of my own and fully converted it all ...
She was made for such a time as this!
Perfect song choice! Beautiful lady dog ❤
It’s a husky, snow is what they dream of and I love watching my two play in the snow also
200TH sub Did it !congrats😍
Beautiful!
Thank you!
I think your dad would have been very proud of your van build. It looks great.
Thank you, I'd like to think he would be too :)
Congrats on the van build. It looks so comfortable. I appreciate the smaller YT channels that are just starting out. They have a nice feel to them. Condolences on losing your Dad, but it's cool you're honoring his legacy. I'm sure he's very proud of you. :)
aww hey thanks so much. I think showing what vanlife is like when you don't have a bunch of brand deals and sponsorships is important too lol I appreciate your support!
Gross, Leon musk product.
i know. i wish there was a better option that wasn't made by him...
😉❤️👍

I'm curious if you had the skylight partially opened or if it was closed and locked when the wind gust tore it off. Nice fix and Really nice van ! 👍
It was completely closed. I had actually just been filming a starlink unboxing video in the van that afternoon and had b-roll footage of me closing the skylight after testing the starlink on the roof. I think it must have just been a freak accident where the winds were strong enough and coming from just the right direction. I will definitely be keeping a closer eye on the weather from now on!
Great job 😊
Thanks! 😊
Very nice.
thank you so much!
Aw, your story touches.my heart. I know that feeling all too well, and it's drawing me to do the same. I have been collecting parts & components while saving cash and selling off my stuff downsizing. I soon will be getting my van (thinking transit). I.m definitely looking forward to your electrical video as I have the same Renogy components. It's a daunting thought and I've been studying as much as possible, but still overwhelmed with figuring out the electrical. Hats off to you for mastering it! What a great feeling that must be. I can't wait to be where you are and join you with that proud feeling of accomplishment. I just keep telling myself I CAN DO IT, ha ..can't give up now, I'm committed! :) Best luck to you both on your journey and fun travels! 👏
That is so exciting!! Congrats on taking the first steps! The electrical part was definitely the most daunting to me too. I had an electrician friend who promised to help me but she bailed and I ended up having to do it all myself and now I'm super grateful because I know how to fix it if anything goes wrong. I had zero experience prior so trust me, if i can do it, so can you! hoping to get the video out next week. I'll let you know when I do. keep in touch and let me know if you have any questions!
@@bethandkayuh Awesome! I will watch for it. I too feel it would be best to learn it and do it myself. (altho dreading it, ha) I'm headed to Oregon for Holiday time with family so may end up putting things on hold for a little bit. I hope you have a blessed holiday and I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I can relate there too, It's not easy to accept. You can take him in spirit on your van adventures as you will be thinking of him along the way. Hold on to that father daughter bond.
Nice😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Good job 👍
thank you!
I love that you made tambour doors! I’m currently at my doll-sized model step in starting VanLife (aka the pre-pre-steps lol) and I just made sliding doors for it and I’m glad to see I’m not alone in these ideas!
omg those tambour doors were a bitch to make but I looove the result lol! good luck on everything and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or just need someone to comiserate with when things get tough haha
@@bethandkayuh Thank you!!
U r totally awesome, doing the van and this video. Thanks. I really wish to learn how to build the power system. Have you also considered a small solar panel for emergency? Please may you produce a lecture on hooking up your electrical work. Being 70 and want a nomad lifestyle, it would be really helpful. Thanks again.
Thank you so much! Unfortunately I had to deal fix my skylight and then I threw my back out so I'm a little behind on the power system video, but I'm hoping to have it up by next week! Thanks for your patience :)
oh and yes I have considered a portable solar panel (or two) for emergency and I am definitely going to get one in the future. I have my system wired and ready for solar as soon as I get the panels
Hey Beth I am truly sorry for the loss of your dad and I know the feeling so well. Please accept our condolences. We are in the process of preparing for our own van life and looking forward to the journey. Wishing you all the best and success for the future. Will keep in touch from the UK.
Thank you so much. everyone always says its the club you are now a member of but never wanted to be a part of. So excited for you and your vanlife journey!! looking forward to keeping in touch xx

Thanks so much! Hoping to get the electrical video up this week, my skylight broke and had to repair that so I fell a little behind 😅
