“The Bible in Slow English” is for beginning English language learners. It is best utilized as a companion to English lessons, or to a language learning app such as Duolingo. (Find Duolingo for free in the app store.) Opportunities to listen to spoken English abound, but audio books, newscasts, and podcasts are often spoken too rapidly for a beginnng learner to understand, and the listener soon gives up. With “the Bible in Slow English”, you will listen to English being read at a very slow pace, with accompanying closed captions. By listening to a new chapter every day and with the aid of closed captions, the learner will find themselves progressing rapidly from 0-20% word recognition, to 40-60 %, of words and phrases, and finally to 60 to 80% without the use of captions. Eventually the listener will progress to near 100% word and phrase recognition and be able to move on to listening to normal paced audiobooks and podcasts.
Newcomers to the English language are often curious about learning about other cultures and religions as well. “The Bible in Slow English” is an opportunity to explore the Bible without bias or commentary, or anyone's agenda other than your own desire to "find out for myself." We hope you
