Dumb n Dumber
Hey it’s me
Oh I met one of you guys there!
Oh sweet!
Nice!
Sigma
itty bitty stinging rain
You’ve never been in the military have you? You’ve never had to dig a foxhole in combat either, right? I’ve watched 42 seconds of your 2 1/2 minute video & I’m thinking most of your “training” is fresh from TH-cam! I’m not trying to discourage you. I am encouraged by anyone learning “THE MILITARY WAY”, & “WHAT IS MILITARY LIFE”. As we can see by some of the “CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM COMMENTS”, when you bring up anything to do with the military, there’s in the neighborhood of +-16 million “AMERICAN MILITARY VETERANS” scattered around & living in every State, every city, every county, every American territory & many parts of the World. So, if you post MILITARY RELATED “ANYTHING”, a lot of eyes 👀 are going to critic you post. Best of luck creating your Defensive Fighting Positions. Lastly, if I’m totally wrong about all this, then I humbly apologize.
WTF? Where's your grenade sump?
Don't worry I'm working on it.
Lose the poncho. You’ll be all wet from sweating beneath it anyway. If Charlie can do it without a rain cover, so can you.
Hate to tell you but you dug a fox hole that would ensure you died. Must people dont understand theres an entire class on digging fox holes and entrenched positions for a reason. Look up what a grenade sump is. The fact you dont have sector stakes a range card or any concealment or over head cover added. Vc loved mortars and using rpg2 rockets as indirect fire weapons
Nice foxhole!
Very good kit and fox hole set up
Thanks
You forgot one thing. A pack of ol' marbs sitting with a zippo.
Hey bro you forgot the claymore for the perimeter
Well, time to fill the hole.
Never
What frequencies does it operate on? Can it communicate with a hand held? Does it have much range to it?
Ok so one thing I do know is with the whip antenna the range is around 3 miles with the larger 10 foot antenna it can go as far as 10 miles with other types of antennas like the vehicle or the spool one I am unsure of. For your other question I am pretty sure they are ham radios so it might work with a handheld radio. Finally it’s says it goes from rec trans frequencies 25-71 so I hope that answered your question if you want more information about it world war 2 jeep and rifle has lots more in depth information about the radio.
Sump?😮
you need overhead cover from incoming mortar shells, grenade sumps.
I remember doing this when I was a young little grunt running recon missions in my neighborhood
Nice work. Always looking for LP/OP designs. I'm an old man and won't dig one. Just something to to think about. Thanks!
Very insightful, thanks alot! If you don't mind me asking did you dig that foxhole with the etool shown in the video, and if so what etool is it?
Ok so I have dug foxholes with entrenching tools before but not with this one, for this one I just used a standard shovel to dig it and the entrenching tool is just for show. The shovel I have as an entrenching tool is weird it is from the correct era but it has the more modern look of entrenching tools with the more sharp angles like a triangle for the tip. Now I would recommend if you are going to dig a foxhole to use a normal shovel because they are bigger so you can get more dirt out more quickly and easily also wear gloves because it protects your hands from the rubbing of your hand and the shovel while digging. Sorry about sending you like an entire essay about this.
@@FlatlandsReenacting1968 Okay, Thanks alot and don't worry I don't mind reading a bit :)
Is that a prick 25 or a prick 77 radio?
PRC 25 or at least that’s what the plate on it says but in the battery area there is a black cushion stopping me from seeing if there is a tub in the bottom so I am just going to say it is a PRC 25
did you dig the grenade sump at the bottom? just FYI its called a fighting hole and they are dug the same way today...
Ok sorry but I am unaware of this gernade stump please tell me what this is and also I know that they are dug the same way today I just have some Vietnam era equipment inside, after ww2 the foxhole design did not change that much (to my knowledge). Thanks for spending the time to comment and let me know ok it’s other names.
@@FlatlandsReenacting1968 sump...lol... its a hole you dig at the very bottom that goes down at about a 45 degree angle back into the seat or front.... if someone throws a grenade into your fighting hole you kick it into the sump and then bring your knees up to your chest and hope for the best.. a fighting hole is the proper term... fox hole is basically Hollywood slang. my dad was a Marine in Vietnam and never called it a fox hole and when i was in during OIF/OEF we were, how do i put this so you will understand..... punished.. lets just say punished if we called it a fox hole and not a fighting hole. and they haven't changed at all, you did a pretty good job. the only other consideration i would make is using branches and brush to cover the top for concealment... a poncho will keep the rain out but they can be a tad shiny so you should always consider concealing it with natural debris and brush to blend into the terrain better.
@@stevej9636 Thanks for all this information this is all new to me and I appreciate the help.
Great job with the details
looks really good man
Join the army kid, trust
Nice
Tee hee hee
I got a question I’m doing 25th infantry division from 68 to 69. Should I get a lightweight rucksack or a tropical
Uh that is Kinda a hard question I would say lightweight because I just saw a TH-cam video with one but I would say find a 25 infantry reenactment squad and see what they say. Good luck!
Nice job brother From: PFC Thorne
Thank you
Charlie was blazing the trails
For real Charlie really wanted that radio for himself.
Sorry if the audio is messed up I got no idea how or why it did that. But still hope you enjoyed!
Nice
omg no way i went there!!!111!!!!11!1!!!
Update it flooded again after a night so I am starting a new foxhole in a less low area. Video for it may come out last week.
High school sucks. I was homeschooled all my life but my parents are divorcing so I’m getting used to public school 😅
oof dang uh good luck.
Awesome Video!!!! Worth the sub!
Thank you so much!
I want one of these but dont feel like spending $600
what that's crazy.
yeah it took me forever to save up for it lol
Very nice collection dude!
Thank you very much
I would take the handset for the radio and get a plastic bag/piece and wrap the handset in that and secure it with od green/black electrical tape and then tape a slide keeper to it so you can hang it off your suspenders without breaking the little clip there.
That is a great idea I had another handset that came with the radio and it had a snapped clip so I will definitely do this once I get a extra slide keeper
"PromoSM"
Bro this seems like fun to do.
Do you mean the grand tour or just Vietnam reenacting in general?
Yugoslavian M56 SMG ammo pouch.
oh yeah sorry I forgou
@@FlatlandsReenacting1968 lol
Squad Lead approves
U play Rising Storm 2? Also good video, wish there were more vietnam reenactors
This guy is great, I love his kit(and him, no homo). I’m in his group
Yeah sadly I don’t play rising storm 2 but also I wish we had more Vietnam reenactors.
Yeah I know, I searched up Korean War uniform and Vietnam War uniform on TH-cam and found more Korean War uniforms than Vietnam War uniforms lol, which really surprised me
show your plate carrier 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
I'd suggest checking out the GoRuck MACV 2 mid original. It's made by older special forces guys that served in Vietnam. I just bought and pair and they're fantastic
Ok I will look in to that thanks for the tip.
Where is the museum of the American gi
College Station Texas, they also have a website where you can see their upcoming events.
Panama soles are not Post war. I have two sets of original Jungles with issue stamps from May-1968 on the tongues and Panama soles.
yes I am aware and I am sorry I said they were post war I think later in the video I said that they are late war but thanks for informing me
