Dash Fall
The Dash Five freebie had a short life. After a couple successful flights, its pilot thought it would be a good time to try a launch from the mothership. It seems that a crash was inevitable.

Alatus Crash

Successful launch of the Alatus with a gyro followed by some fast wiggly flying, ultimately leading to overconfidence and an uncontrolled interface with a tree. The footage is from the HDZero goggles DVR.

2023-10-14. We showed up super late to a slope soaring event with no wind. That wasn't a problem for the Zagi or the Assassin. Mostly gentle flying, a little chase footage. Footage comes from the HDZero goggles DVR and the Runcam Thumb Pro. Runcam footage stabilized in gyroflow.

I have a possible explanation now--I have a bad aileron potentiometer on my transmitter.
Like the tree crash and recovery :)
Just a thought: If, while you were in a roll and your battery disconnected, your motor would certainly quit and all control surfaces would remain in their last (roll) position. If your batter didn't disconnect and you lost radio communications, 'smart safe' would kick in (if it was working) and do 'exactly' the same thing. i.e., ailerons locked in their last position and the motor would turn off. After watching your video, I'll 'definitely' be programming my AR636 controlled servos to fail to predetermined positions (likely neutral ailerons, slightly up elevator and a touch of left/right rudder.
Just got my new Commander and tried configuring 'smart' failsafe using their instructions and my DX9. Failsafe failed! I can find no way to configure it correctly on my DX0. Watched plenty of video and re-read how to set it again and again. Are you using a DX9?
I have a DX6i. Switching on safe mode had no apparent affect during the event.

Nope, that wasn't me. Some other poor saps nearly got destroyed.

That sucks!! Hopefully you contacted Horizon Hobby. Their customer service is great and more and likely will replace it for you.

This was my first plane, so if I am flying well it means I have learned well I guess. I'll take that as a compliment.
Why landing with rotating prop ? Try to flare landing.
