Great to hear Lou again on the band - licensed since 1952!! Drove past Lou's antenna farm years ago one summer on holiday in Spain. Green with envy

"Lima zulu two zulu forida" - that is what you could hear on 40m almost every early bulgarian morning... Fedi Mladenov is "A" class radio-amateur from Bulgaria. His home vilage is Kiselevo. He is on the frequencies since 1964 and active on every single day . Fedi is retired now from the railroad where he served as train officer . www.qrz.com/db/LZ2ZF

How did you do this? Looks great
SDR is "receiving" what is on the 1st I.F. stage of the IC-7100 - see th-cam.com/video/HBrlHBZ7lj4/w-d-xo.html
how does frequently move on scope while tuning 7100?....thanks for uploading

Hi when you connected the display to the R8500 did you use the IF plug and did you have to block the voltage with a capacitor ? Would be interested to see the connection
Yes 102 cap in series fitted to the phono plug that connects to the IF output. There's a photo of the connector on my QRZ page - www.qrz.com/db/M0WWS
It was very nice to work you Gareth! 73, VK5PO John
Hi Gareth didn't think there were any hams around Prudhoe in just down at Bewick Grange in Prudhoe. Enjoy your videos. Trying to set up ft8 on my Ftdx 3000 without much success 73 John 2eoeqw
Thanks John, glad you like the videos. I've seen your callsign pop up on my APRS map but I don't think we've worked. aprs.fi/#!z=11&call=a%2F2E0EQW&others=1&timerange=604800&tail=604800 I've become a bit of an FT8 addict but only have ICOM rigs here no Yaesu - the trick is getting the USB port on the rig to work as a com port and external soundcard, then it's just plug and play these days, no fiddling around with audio transformers and PTT serial controllers. - Gareth

This gives pirate radio a whole new meaning!😂
Tnx uploading. This is me, but you tuned me high pitched i sound like a parrot. 73's de Ov3T Thomas
Mike is a steward of ham radio here in London/Sheddon region in Ontario. His efforts are wholeheartedly appreciated by many here in this neck of the woods.
So how did you do it? I want to do the same ! 😊
I hope you're doing better with your mental health problem. This guy has a mental disability. His mental capacity is similar to a 9 year old. Everyone, 1 like = 1 prayer and appreciation for this guy. 👍
I worked them too on 30m FT8, hopefully it will get confirmed. P.S looking at your QRZ profile I think we both did the RAE in the same year and got the same grades....73
Big stateside traffic into Northern Ireland on the super bowl and channel 11...
Would you recommend a pan adaptor for a Yaesu ft710? I have access to one that I have been thinking of utilising. It looks fascinating to have the radio in tandem with an SDR.
Using one watt transmit power of an an ancient Cobra CB found in the attic, on a piece of copper pipe 259 centimetres long, with a ground plain being only the metal roof of a shed, a successful transmission from northern Saskatchewan to Belfast was made with a lasting QSO on channel 35USB! When the conditions are open, nothing can stop the signal. When the conditions are closed, 5,000 watts can not get you any further than ground wave. Radio hobby is fascinating, even if one is unlicensed and has nothing but the most basic and primitive of equipment, which is all I have.
As a non - mariner, and, tbh, not being 'super' knowledgeable about radio, it's interesting to see RTTY in use to put out shipping information.
If this is just with power to radio, I wonder what would adding a linear do?
@@M0WWS thanks for the info... all these years and didn't know about the sun spot..
Using with an SDR, or online SDR app? 73 M7TUD
Can you describe your rig? Yaesu FT-60 is FM only, right? I'm interested in working LEDSAT on UHF (435.310 MHz) SSB, but don't think I have the right radio.
Is it possible to adjust the tone deviation to receive different RTTY configs? I tried to figure it out in mine but I couldn't find any option.
@@M0WWS Thanks for the answer! :)
@@M0WWS Oh, I will definitely take a look. Thank you! Anyway, I guess you will not be able to change other parameters in the decoder, such as parity bits and so on.
Is this legal to use for voice in the UK without a license?
@@M0WWS thank you for the reply..... And amateur's and non licensed users talk to each other? Or is that not allowed?
Where are you getting the IF feed want to do something similar with my icom 756pro3
The local hunt saboteurs could be interested - potential intelligence information, especially if the culprits are guilty of breaking the 2004 Hunting Act as well as wireless telegraphy laws.

A really nice set up, I’m very impressed! 73 and Semper Fi 🇺🇸
@@M0WWSAloha to you too! Yesterday, I was out at Sand Island (POTA park on Oahu) with RC Anderson WH6FQE, who brought the tent, Bob AH6MU, and Steven WH6GWU. I got there late due to a American Legion Post meeting but it was a very nice sunny day. We had RC’s IC-705 and my newly updated G90 that I bought from a fellow ham on base at Pearl Harbor/Hickham just the other day and went out there for testing. I said nice set up because Hams over here face HOA restrictions and can’t set up antennas like you can. That 7100 is a nice rig and on my wish list for someday. 🤙🏻
That’s neat
Not sure it even serves any educational purposes.

Thanks for this video, Gareth. It prompted me to find out what all these WRTC stations are and I've found out that I've already worked enough of them to get me over half way to an award! 73. Chris, M0JZD 🙂
