Sikorsky S-64 Firefighting Air-Crane - Start Up / Lift Off - HD
Sikorsky S-64 Air-Crane start up and take off outside of Albuquerque, NM. En-route to do some serious firefighting up in the northwest. Amazing helicopter! - I was working through some camera set-up issues in the beginning of the video, but it steadies out. Finally found a nice spot for the camera on the weather probe mounting bracket on the front of our 206. Enjoy.

Short video of a Bell 429 GlobalRanger taking off outside of Albuquerque, NM. They were en route back to Farmington where they are based at San Juan Regional Medical Center. They replaced their Bell 222 with this awesome machine. The new 429 has the Helicopter Terrain Awareness Warning System (HTAWS) which I can tell you is much needed flying around remote New Mexico. Safe Flights!
High Altitude Lidar Collection - Bell 206L - Sandia Peak - HD

This is un-edited video of a high altitude Lidar and Imagery collection that I made on Sandia Peak in Albuquerque, NM. Highest point collected was at approximately 10,600'. We collected at 600' AGL. 14,200' Density Altitude at the top. Amazing flight and breathtaking views!

Sikorsky S-64 Air-Crane landing and taxi-ing in for the night outside of Albuquerque, NM. What an awesome machine! This particular Air-Crane is operated by Helicopter Transport Services based out of Aurora, Oregon. The crew was en route to firefight in the northwest but had to overnight at KAEG due to some nasty storm cells on the New Mexico/Colorado border. Just an awesome piece of machinery!

This is an unedited video I took while flying both lidar and imagery over downtown Miami, Florida. It was a beautiful day for flying. Things got a bit tricky over the high rise buildings as some of the powerline corridors we were collecting broke off right at the base of some of the buildings. I'm fortunate to have a great pilot.

A very nice Robinson R22 coming in for fuel at Double Eagle II Airport in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Albuquerque is a great location for helicopter flight training as the airport's altitude sits at 5,837' and wind conditions are highly varied.

Why does it take so long from start up to lift off?
Cause the startup sequence and checklist is quite near a mile long, honestly.
