2005 KTM 640 Adventure R - Overview
Barn find at 4400 miles and 20yrs old. Last revision of the legendary LC4 ADV bike. 340lbs, 55hp, big ass dirt bike.
Note: If buying an LC4 based bike, avoid models with black engine covers. The ones with grey, shown in the video, have upgraded high-flow cylinder heads. This increases oil flow to parts of the engine prone to failure in the earlier (black engine cover) LC4 models.

2002 Yamaha Big Bear 400 4x4 Review
มุมมอง 1.6K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
2002 Big Bear 400 4x4 Green. I needed a SMALL, 4x4, work-capable ATV. I was set on either a Honda or Yamaha. An old Big Bear 400 popped up on marketplace with 400 miles on it. Listed for $2100 with a plow, it was solely used for plowing a small driveway and annual hunting trips. I negotiated to $1800 and truly got a creampuff condition ATV. Building trails, bushwhacking, traversing logging cuts...
1977 Grumman 17 Double Ender Canoe Overview
มุมมอง 8413 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you look up Grumman Canoes you will find "Marathon Boats." Sadly these are no longer made to anywhere near the same quality as Grumman did back in the 50/60s/70s. This model has the deep keel, standard 3 rib support, and two seat layout. The previous owner never touched it and let black mold grow all over it. The decals suffered the same neglect and flaked off long ago. I wanted something to...

Kelty Backroads Shelter - Review/Walkaround
มุมมอง 4.1Kปีที่แล้ว
Awesome addition for camping, removable and more versatile than the attached awnings I have found. Takes a few mins to set up and take down though. With proper guylines and pegs it is a BOMBER awning for downpours and storms. Heads up poles are fiberglass, so that’s where they cut costs.

Harbor Freight Predator 1400 Generator - 3/8 Drive DeWalt Drill Test
มุมมอง 2.3Kปีที่แล้ว
This is quite the impressive compact generator. 1400 peak but more like 1000-1100 consistent. Perfect for any charging or small power equipment use in remote areas. Since using this, it has started with one pull every time. Impressive even at 24F. 91 non ethanol with red stahbil, and Amsoil signature 10w-30 are in it for the 30hr break in period. Long term report coming in a year. It is light! ...
Dost Drop - E-Bike Review
มุมมอง 1.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
After 80 miles of riding I can say that the Dost Drop is a fast and capable E-Bike. You’d have to be on a flat trail on pedal assist 1 in order to get 120 miles out of it though.
Continental TerrainContact A/T - 55,000 Mile Review
มุมมอง 8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Forgot to mention road noise is minimal. More than your average all season but less than most AT tires. A solid option for 3 season use. (Wet, Gravel, Dirt, Pavement, Light Mud) Not a tire I would go with for 4 season use as winter performance is poor. I also recommend you do not go with any A/T tire for winter (snowflake rated or not), even the most budget-friendly winter tires outperform the ...

From a Klr650 owner point of view, that's one beautiful bike 👌
@@rustytanks thanks big dog.
we bought this grill but we are having trouble getting the green propane tank to attach to it. is there some trick to get it to thread?
No should thread in easy, check tank threads for dents or misalignment.
Bankruptcy
just bought one and noticed you put the steak on the griddle section in the middle. I was thinking it'd cook with more flame-taste on the open parts along the edges. Maybe not though:)
Thanks for the video. Ive been wondering how those saddle bags would fit the Tdub
Dangerous to use rocks for ballest .use water in jugs
No danger with those rocks PAL.
Thank you for choosing our gear. Looking good!
Decent bike but the tires don't handle gravel that well. Get on a lot of gravel and wipe out like i did a few times. 🧕
Yea, swapped em out for Knobby Knics and it fucks hard now in all terrain.
Just bought this same sled for $300...Runs well too
Total steal! Nice.
How do you keep the grates from rusting?
They’re cast iron, season well and they’ll be non stick and never rust.
Ah good ol Metalocalypse 👌
Too bad it's a Bull shit Polaris
It’s a 600 XC
Sweet and concise video. Thanks for posting.
fascinating
Great content, looks delicious! Perfect medium rare.
▪️ Have you seen that cargo bike Dost will put out next? It's looking pretty slick, but it's 5k... I'd probably go for the airel rider Kepler and save half the money... unless I were a high roller. 🟥
Fine video but you never mentioned the brand name of the pot???? What’s up with that.
Fire Maple
@@rippinrogers thanks.
Were they smooth at very high speed? (No vibration or balancing issues?)
Yes, no issues at 95mph
10 miles eats up 40% of battery? So it gets nowhere near the advertised 120 mile range? Seems more like 25 miles tops
Nice profile name haha! So 10 miles at max assistance on hilly terrain are up 40% of one battery. I get about 40-50 miles on max assist on hilly dirt roads. I could see this bike easily going 100 miles + on pavement, on assist 1, in non hilly terrain.
@@rippinrogers ahh yup, I figured Dost bikes were lying about the range, just didn't realize how big their lie was, thanks for the information!!!
@@dixienormis3614 I don’t think you understand what I am saying. It will go the advertised range using two batteries. The 40% was reading one of the batteries. Their measurement is based on ideal conditions and lower pedal assist. Overall it’s an incredible bike.
@@rippinrogers thanks, can it pull well up hill in the woods? I see the suspension kinda looks like basic on it, but wondering how well rounded it is, no good reviews out there on these bikes
@@dixienormis3614 it will give you 20mph on any dirt roads uphill. The bike is a rocket, or a long range low speed e bike. Commuting vs dirt road exploring is the difference
That sounds beastly loud, but I’m sure it’s not…..how would you rank the noise level?
It’s pretty quiet. The drill is almost louder than the generator
What are you averaging for total run time? I plan on basically just running lights in my cabin. My 1000 watt would go 12 hours w .7 Hal tank. I’m hoping this one is somewhat close to that.
I have not tested it. It advertises a 7hr run time. A more traditional type generator may be better suited to you than this one that’s encased in plastic. You could add a larger gas tank to the older style ones easily. This one not so much
I did have a question about how the bike fits you . I am 6 ft tall , and I'm wondering if this Drop would be a good fit as compared to the Kope .
I am 5'9" and it fits me great. I think youd be fine on a Drop, but you could also go with the Kope, which is a tad large for my height.
how many mm wide is your gas canister please.
Hey bro you got your money's worth already
what are you going to replace the Continential's with?
Likely a Load range C or E tires in the same size. Options are limited in C, Grabber ATX or BFG K02s, but would be a more comfy ride while being sturdier than these SL rated tires. If i do go with Load range E, I think itll be too rough of a ride. Well also see what sales are going on in the spring.
@@rippinrogers ... agree, Load E would be to stiff. But, if you don't need anything more than the SL, then stick with those. It's not like you can (or should) overload ur vehicle anyway.
@@biz4twobiz463 Thats the thing thats a little odd when using the SL XL C D E F rating to compare. I've seen load Range C tires with a 113 load rating. And then these tires in the video are SL rated and have a 115 load rating. So while both are above the stock 108 load rating, the C range tire, which I would assume is capable of carrying more weight than the SL tires, is rated to carry less. If I were to gt a Load Range E tire the load rating will likley be 118/121, all these load ratings are at max tire pressure and i doubt ill ever run any tire over 40-50 psi.
@@rippinrogers ... yes, it's very confusing and weird how they rate the tires. Maybe the unicorn tire for you should be a Load D. haha Well, good luck either way.
You wasted 24 seconds of burning fuel by not having the pot full of water ready to go.
Nice sled. I love the edge x. I have a 2002 blue and yellow 800

Man, you got that one running nice ! Great job !
I’ve owned two old Arien snow throwers in the past, they are beast ! Very cool ! Thanks
Thanks man! Hope you’re doing well.
Did you climb up the slide, or get to the peak along the ridge? Planning on skiing it this year and wondering about the approach
I hiked up the north slide this past weekend. There’s no snow there yet and I can confidently say that this was the only time I’ve been legitimately scared hiking. Hiking that slide makes the flume slide look like preschool shit. This was my 32nd 4000 footer and that was the only time I legit thought I might die on a hike lol
Amazing Video!!
I would use an "emergency blanket" (1$)... cut it to size. And then wrap it around the pot and use a bulldog-clip to keep it in place, just above the handles. There you go, wind resistance and heat reflectance at 12gram weight. Thank you for this setup tip!
I just use some foil from kitchen, $0.01 I guess :) . And I get to not ruin an emergency blanket.
A pot like the one you used, I’m assuming it’s a Fire Maple brand is about $18.XX now on fleBay....great vid of a more frugal JetBoil alternative...
Great video.Thanks a lot !!!!
Thanx for the Upload; A really cool pot I'm thinking of getting - I can pick one up for $15 right now from eBay UK Looks to me like the physics involved are pretty similar to the Jetboil in that the Heated Fin Construction helps to enhance the transfer of heat?! However my Pocket Stove is slightly different to the one shown (mine has 3 folding pot supports not 4) - so I'd be greatful if anyone can tell me the internal dimensions of the base? (to know whether or not mine would fit?) ty :)
It wouldn't have to fit inside the heat exchanger ring, just does on mine. Exact same principle as the jet boil yep!
Was the approach brutal?
Great video. I just subscribed 20 , like and support
Hi man. How id the tent performance under strong winds? I'm thinking to use it in Patagonia, but I guess Terra Nova does not test its tents in wind tunnel, at least they do not make it available.
is it a regular size gas tank? I saw some small sone out there. how much grams does it contain?
An 8oz gas canister is shown in the video. They also make 4oz and 16oz gas canisters as well.
@@rippinrogers 227 grams
I have same issue. Did u find out how to fix it?
I got the fastest SanDisk SD Card I could buy and it lessened but never fully went away. Its a pretty mediocre camera, but bomb proof.
Hello :-) allways nice to see a Hilleberg tent in action, thanks for sharing, atb Hans
Sure thing!
Nice demo of Unna it windy conditions! And very nice scenery!
Thank you! Love the area we pitched in.
Two people in one unna?? That must be really cosy :D
Sure is. Although when you look at the dimensions in terms of the floor plan for a comparable tent like a Mountain Hardwear Direkt 2, they are very similar, with the Unna being slightly bigger.
Sure, but when I think of my three person tent with my friend and all backpacks and all the other grate stuff ... it's chaotic and messy :D So two fully packed persons in one Unna ... Well, I guess it depends how long one is out in the woods. Would love to have a tent like that though. Great videos!
Interesting, this might be worth considering as a alternative to my fancy feast or pocket rocket. Thanks for sharing the idea Buck.
+BackpackingBen Its a great little combo, good for the shoulder season temperatures when the smaller alcohol stoves do not put out enough heat. It is also pretty weigh conscious for this style of system.. For example an MSR WindBoiler with a 4oz fuel can weighs the same as this setup with an 8oz fuel can.
+Buck MountainTop interesting for sure.
I could barely sleep it was so loud! Great little shelter though.
