I learnt Welsh in mid Wales and the prof chose south, as she was based in Aberystwyth university, but even we taught ydy'chi not simply dych. Some of the things you were commenting on would have blown her mind too. A teaching app is no place to teach short cuts.

For those thinking Shwmai is odd spelling. It isn’t really. It’s a contraction of Sut+mae+hi i.e How is it? A variant of it (Sumai?) is used in North Wales. Gogs don’t always say “Sut dach chi?”

This may be dated and a bit awkward, but it's a great course. I feel like I'm actually learning something

Well it's been almost a year since I stated watching this series. I had to put it to once side a few times due to other priorities, but I've finally got through all 36 episodes. Taking notes for every lesson. If there was a second series, PLEASE upload it, cos this has been a massive benefit to me in wanting to learn Welsh. once again, thank you very much for uploading these 36 episodes on to youtube. I really appreciated it 🙏👍

Been using these since last July. Stopped in back September due to University, but I've gotten back to watching them again and have just finished this one. In that time I've also been using Duolingo, so I haven't gone completely cold with learning Welsh, but I've definitely found that what I've learnt from one source has helped me with the other and vice versa. Once again, thanks a lot for up loading these on TH-cam, they've been a massive help. Diolch yn fawr iwan 👍🏻

Very useful series for learning Welsh. The clips have been included for more understanding with added interest. Above all it was free of cost. I say I must have enjoyed more if there were subtitles in Welsh as sometimes it was difficult to follow the spoken Welsh. Look forward to watching and learning from the next series.

I learnt the word ¨cerddoriaeth¨ for music, so is it only used in certain contexts? For. ex. music as a subject or generally speaking about music, whilst one uses music for specifying a certain genre/style?

What are the rules surrounding mae at the beginning of a sentence? Apparently no meaning in English? So when is it used and why?

There is difficulty in understanding 'nasal mutation' and near the end complaints (answer) of individuals were not written on the screen either, so were difficult to have clarification. 'Dost' is not in one of the on line dictionary?

This is a revision, so a lot of information to absorb. It takes longer than 20 minutes for a beginner.
