I bought my Henry frontier,22 magnum on line for $600.00, and would not recommend a Henry to anyone looking for a high quality lever action rifle. Mine has a cheap looking spray painted alloy receiver cover, plastic forearm band, and mismatched finish on the magazine tube. I guess I'm much too old to judge the definition of high quality to newer generations.

I have a 460V with a 5-inch muzzle-brake equipped X-frame revolver. Love mine. Makes a plausible 454 Casull shooting platform too. Also can chamber 45 Autorim, 45 Schofield and 45 Colt. Even 45 Colt Lehigh Defense loads. Enjoy!!!

The 460 is not harder recoiling than the 500. But both will drop anything and everything of large size on the earth. Use the cast bullet muzzle-brake as jacketed bullets work as well too. No need to switch back and forth.

Hey, man! I just found you. I have one of those. The biggest problem with it is wear inside the forcing cone. Honestly, every time I shoot the fucker, I expect it to explode. I have put about a thousand rounds through mine. I reload all my ammo, and I have packed the Hornady shell to the top and crammed it down with the slug in the press, 70 grains, a couple hundred times. It is dead-on at 250 yards. It will kill an elk at 500 yards. At fifty yards, with a 280-gn slug, it will completely obliterate a car battery. A .44 magnum super blackhawk kicks at least three times as hard. You can shoot the 460 XVR with one hand. But you MUST wear hearing protection.

I own the xvr 460mag and the 500mag, I like the 460mag best the 500mag hurts my knuckle after a few rounds they're both great.

Nop, the 500 kicks more, the 460 usually comes in 200gr the 500 comes heavier but the 460 is faster and more versatile as you can shoot the 454 and 45colt out of the same gun.

A match bullet that will get better results in a match rifle at 1 in 7 as min and i in 8 at max. For single shots, load to ogive and be impressed.
