    I'm not sure why they teach us how to play instruments but never how to maintain them. Daily cleaning for sure, but never disassembly and assembly. So grateful for this video.

    One of my top three trill keys broke off because I dropped it. Is there anyway to fix it?

    Thanks so much for this detailed video. I just completed my 4th overhaul by following your instructions. Not sure if I missed it, but I always clean all the rods/pivot screws and use a very fine synthetic oil on them when assembling the clarinet. Cheers!

    Well I compare the sax to the automatic transmission. Each who came up with what the sax person must have gone nuts like the auto trans inventors. I mean why would someone develop a transposing instrument? Well I have an old USA made Bundy and not a Bundy II. It needed pads something fierce. Taking mine apart I just started with the left hand keys and went to it. Going back together is a better headache, knowing what needs to be there before putting what goes there. I use a little old precision screw driver, small needle nose and a short forceps.

    2. Question will I ruin it if I put custom pearl keys on a vintage sax?

  • @GreenGrow-ck3pg
    @GreenGrow-ck3pg ปีที่แล้ว

    Thk u I just got my first vintage alto & I am making it my own. If anything brakes I will know. I may sell it bc it looked small when i went to pick up. Ill be able to buy a vintage tenor. Not into shiny stuff. I like to play with ugly pennies that work new

    Your video is great! Do you have a pdf file that covers the disassembly and assembly instructions? This especially applies the names and locations of the keys and sound holes. Sometimes, it is best to examine figures on a page.

    This would be super cool to also do on a Yamaha Low C Bass (Tenor) Clarinet cause while it plays like a Clarinet (you have to turn your hands vertically cause they're curved to make it more compact) there's some interesting mechanisms.

    Hi Sir, when you mention the Allied no.6 driver, or the Allied no.4 driver on the Flute/Clarinet clips, are you meaning the T5104 and T5106 drivers? Thank you for your advice, these clips have been extremely helpful

    Why would you skip the hinge lube???? I started to inquire on Part I, why would you put the hinge rods back into the horn?? If you are going this far into a horn, wouldn't it be a good idea to clean those rods?? They are either rusty, or they are black with lubricant and dirt, depends on the user, but in both cases the hinge rod needs addressing. You kinda left off a MOST important part.
