Dry Dropper Euro Nymphing Tips - Dry Size
Dry fly - Sensitivity, cast-ability and Float-ability are all important when it comes time to tie on a dry dropper. I enjoy fishing the DD techniques, and its surprising how many fish eat the Popsicle dry flies. Heres a tip or two when fishing dry dropper on a light weight leader euro nymphing setup.

Euro Nymphing Tips - Sighter Colored wax

While nymph fishing, are you having trouble locating the sighter? Products like neon wax (Skafars) and other products can help. Before going to crazy with extra tags, thicker sighter and tons of wax; Try to adjust and learn different casting methods that promote finding the sighter easier (a future video!) Skafars Neon Wax is available in several colors. Its helpful to add a sighter to tippet, ...

Bead Color, Fly Fishing Nymphing Tips
มุมมอง 4.2K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Silver Beaded Flies are often found on the end of my line while euro nymphing. Maybe its just confidence, or actually makes a difference. Either way, there are times and reasons why I start with silver or copper beaded fly. Low light conditions, as in early morning when this video was shot, along with heavily colored waters pursade me to start with a silver beaded fly. Enjoy! Josh Miller Trouty...

Fly Fishing with Euro Nymphing Techniques on a Small Stream

Little Live fishing action from the crick! Adjusting rod angles to present the flies in different ways while tight line nymphing with a single fly in pocket water. Although small streams can be frustrating, I do enjoy the tight setting. Learning the little nuances of small streams, can help us as anglers better approach larger rivers. Euro Nymphing a PA Spring Creek
มุมมอง 4K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
In the video, I am using a long leader while euro nymphing. My cast is important, as it can help setup the drift I'm looking to get. Each drift is a little different, as I try to present the flies in different ways to the fish. Different drifts can start with different casting strokes and rod/ leader angles created prior or after the flies enter the water. Even how the flies enter the water can...

Walts Worm Fly Tying - Simple Euro Nymph
Great fly, I have several color and bead size variations and I fish them a lot. I used to give my Walt’s a haircut but now I don’t bother and I actually think they fish a little better. I stopped the hot spots on all my flies a few years ago and I know for sure that they are more effective without hotspots.
Banger fly list! I love throwing a #18 Olive perdigon (2mm black nickel bead) along with a McFly foam egg.
Simple and effective. Well done 👍🏼
Where have you gone Josh? Love your informative videos.
Taking thread turns through the deer hair stubs as you work towards the eye will really lock the deer hair in before you whip finish. Great fly, nice job!
Such a sick concept on so many levels
Hi Josh, just finished reading your Euronymphing book…very helpful and enjoyable …thank you ! Thanks also for all your great videos …particularly this one which demonstrates your frisbee cast really well 👌
This isn't josh miller, you poser.
Lots of stuff on that fly. How does it cast?
First I am enjoying reading your book, "Euro Nymphnig". It is concise and very informative. I do have one question though. In the section giving fly patterns (pgs. 74 - 78) are the hooks sizes relative to a Hanak of FullingMill hook? I measured and found that besides the bigger hook gap of the FullingMill 5125, the only difference between the Hanak H450BL and FM5125 is the hook length. So, a Hanak H450BL #14 is essentially equal to a FullingMill FM5125 #16. I'm currently using a FullingMill FM5125. My assumption is that they are relative to FullingMull since you are one of their signature tyers.
Juventud alocada
Your video is so good. I really enjoy watching your videos. I wish you good health and success
Hi Josh, have you had any trouble with knots failing on the sempe leader material? I used sempe for about 6 months and loved the look and feel of it but my knots would fail randomly. Mostly at the fly line after landing several fish, like the knot slowly loosened itself. I used a clinch knot, then improved clinch to fly line loop with .18mm sempe, then .20mm sempe same thing... Is it me? Or the sempe? This has never happened to me with chameleon.
appreciate the tips josh! could you do a video demonstrating what the "Y" drift looks like on a euro dry dropper?
So glad you are making videos again, thanks!!
Did you remove the rear hvac?
You have a lot of little flip and flick casting techniques. I'd love to see a video of some of the different casts you use.
Are you fishing with a mono leader or Euro fly line? Could you describe your rigging for both material and length for both tippet and leader?
Frisbee cast rules!!
Hope you go over dry dropper in South Dakota.
I travel to SD every other week. Trouts are healthy and strong!🔥
My man!!
How well does that poly fill work if you try to burn it into a wing pattern?
My biggest problem is carrying food and drinks plus a sling pack etc
Dang dude get on e bay and order the snowbee replacement net basket for that mclean. Trout catchers UK has them for $34 you want the one that go's up to 60"
Great idea minimalizing! Certainly in the heat of summer and for long walks in it makes a big difference! You have me rethinking my setup! Great advice and if I might say, Great Book too!
I feel better when I realize I’m not the only one getting wax everywhere 😁
only getting sound in one ear in many of your videos.
At some point the fish just voluntarily comply..
Only the small ones 😂
Loving the “content” haha
Do you have a pic of the inside of your fly box? Or do you have secret patterns ?
so much great info in your book ..thanks
I wipe it on each trout I catch
Still like to hear your thoughts on leader design and use….
Love your videos josh 🔥🔥🔥
Trout yeah.
Have you changed your casting style?
Very much so
@@TroutYeah ..thx...is that in the book if I look for it?
I’ve noticed the new casting style on your stuff lately Josh, care to talk about it a little…
Great stuff like always 👍
No sound
Sound working for me
Pa has soooo many class a and lesser streams to fish for wild browns but mostly you see same stretches of streams in vids 🤷
@@rustbeltwilds837 think Josh is going to burn his spots? I guarantee this non-descript spot was chosen on purpose.
Best videos/info!!!
Paring down is a fun exercise, but i bring too many snacks and beverages with me, so im gonna need a backpack or something to drop on the bank to recharge between sections
waders? Boots? Sunglasses? Trouthunter instead of Cortland hmmmmmm
Lol! I guess I forgot some stuff haha😅
That’s fulling mills tippet
Are you using the leader formula in your book or just a single size sempe? Thx
Josh, I think it’s time you get a new net! 😂
I was gonna ask all your stuff. Now that I’m approaching 70 I’m trying to lighten my load as well. Thanks, Josh.
C&F is that the CFA-830?
Well done.
Thmbs up Josh. Keep making videos......
Awesome. Really liked the camera angle, you get a sense of the scale and distance your working.
Great looking run, enjoyed watching you dissect it.
Hi Josh! It was great meeting you along the river the other day. Again, thanks for the flies and the indicator stick! That looks like pretty heavy current. I know you shared you use a lot of 2.4 mm and 2.0 mm beads. I notice in faster water like that, I'm often bumping up to a 3.2. I use a monorig with a 15 lb section. I'm wondering if I would do better with a slimmer diameter butt section to get smaller, lighter flies down in the current. Thoughts?
