Hey guys! I hope you enjoy the second vlog in this series. My heater quit working, I added some wheel spacers, ladder racks, got rid of the tailgate, put in a fuel pump and did both front and rear brakes (not in video). She's coming along.

We used Sherwin Williams Porch and Floor Enamel on these doors. It only required one quart of paint and with a contractor discount that came to under $20. It has a beautiful satin finish. We used Valley Forge Brown and got a flawless finish that looks like it came painted from the factory.

Can you use this product to spray a garage door?
I'd just recommend using a standard exterior satin house paint like Sherwin Williams Duration. I use that on doors all the time and it looks great and holds up very well.

To make it truly DIY making limewash is easy. I tried to purchase this from home depot and the container broke during delivery. Limewash can be made by mixing regular hydrated lime water and salt. Lime/water mixed at 20/80% and pay $20 instead of 300...😂
Thanks for the tip! I've heard that before from a mason. Where do you get Lime? What is the brand name to make it easier to find? The advantage of this product is that you can get it in any color you want.

How long does this paint last? I have brown soffits and gutters and would like to paint them white. I am afraid of getting into a situation where I have to repaint often.
anything that is painted will require maintenance. It's hard to say how long it will look good. There are a lot of factors that come into play, like what trees are nearby and what type of exposure to the sun the surface gets. This product, when sprayed onto aluminum, should hold up very well and will out perform many other paints. It really should be sprayed by a professional as it is a difficult product to work with. If you are doing it yourself, I'd probably recommend a more standard acrylic exterior house paint.

That's awesome! I subscribed to your channel. I'll take all the help I can get lol. It's a lot of fun learning how to work on them and trying to get as much as possible done by myself. I didn't ever learn how to work on cars and trucks when I was growing up, so it's something I'm trying to do later in life.

I have an issue I’m using enamel vista paint and I use 400 grit and I paint it wet wet covers so good but as it dries the it amplifies the scratches from sanding

How do you make sure not to clog up soffit vents (small lottle holes in soffit thag ensure proper air circulation in the attic) with paint?
if you keep the gun about a foot away from the soffit and have the pressure adjusted correctly you won't have any problem.
Great video! I usually recommend 2 coats of any SW product for overall durability and look. Sherwin Williams Pro Industrial line paints are phenomenal.
you should take the OSHA-certification course "Ladder Safety for the Competent Person". The ladder angle of the ladder going to the ground is way, way more oblique than the guidelines allow. If you let an employee go up on that ladder, the way you have it set up, they could write you up.

I’m assuming you are using a commercial sprayer? Do you think this can be done with a smaller paint sprayer?
The product is thin. It shouldn't be a problem. But I would check in with paint store rep.
Was the multi surface applied directly over the metal or hadn't been previously painted
it was painted from the factory but approximately 3o years old, so the paint was very dull.
What sheen and what tip did you use
i can't really remember. Probably a satin or a semigloss. tip was probably a 311

I have a question for you about the raptor tintable since you're a painter. I've heard people say the tintable is white but I know that in paint any deep base looks white in the can before you add pigment. do you think the tintable raptor has a white color or is it clear and just looks white in the bottle?
Good question. I honestly don’t know. The bottle has a very small opening and it doesn’t come very close to the top because they left enough room in there for about 4 oz of hardener plus the tint. The only way to know for sure would be to pour it out into another container, but they’re really made yo be mixed right in the bottle. If i had to guess, I’d say it’s probably white because as you said, most paints are white before the tint is added.

Did you use this paint on the windows too? Thinned out multiple coats? I'm thinking about doing my windows with this stuff in a vynal safe color. Will also do gutters and downspouts with it for sure.
I did use it on the windows. It made them look like brand new. This product is already very thin so you don't have to add anything to it. It can't be put on vinyl though. It's called multisurface, but it seems like the best surface to put it on is metal.
@@misterwu8128 yeah they can't make it vinyl safe colors. I watched a video where they used this on vinyl windows but after talking to multiple Sherwin Williams employees I found out they can't make vinyl safe colors in it. Gonna use emerald rain refresh instead.
