Nice video! Could you please explain what kind of potentiometers you used and why the schematic shown has 4 potentiometers if the hardware you showed while flying the plane had only 3 potentiometers?
I added a line in a code to add fourth potentiometer , you need just to duplicate a line that is responsible for defining axis

Thanks for sharing a special video of building steps. Beginning is wonderfull but the end of the video and the process some parts you are jumping .. belts connection etc.. and can you share which electronic parts we have to buy except mechanics and a vide for setting them too
How can I increase the frequency range, i need 20-1800 MHz range
1800mhz first local oscillator cannot reach 1800Mhz second the flipflops cannot switch above 40Mhz same with analog switches, so you need fancy RF components that allows you to reach your desired frequency

Brilliant brother ...according to your scheme that you illustrated in the begining of the video, you built a zero IF or direct sampling demodulator. Theorically you must have a perfect matching between the I path components (mixer, low pass filter ) with the Q path components or you will get what so called "IQ imbalance" and of course ADC sample rate has to verify Nyquist-shanon condition. Seeing that you used such hardware , am really wondering about how it is performing ?

@@anissoulhaci2653 thanks man! I have BF200, MPSH10 with me. Will build it on a breadboard first. Thanks again! It'll be hard to find 4mm dia ferrite rod though!
@@awaismushtaq5719 breadboard build too much capacitive noises especially dealing with vhf uhf because every gap on breadboard represent a small picofarades capacitor so i suggest you doing it on copper pcb

Can i use joysticks rather than potentiometers?
Hopefully one day we will see a 30 MHz to 3 GHz VHF-UHF receiver like this in the future. I will try this out soon. Now I see why I got started in Arduino in 2019, because of breadboard projects like this.
Do you also have a solution for how to protect sensitive electronics from high-frequency ignitions of TIG welding machines?

I was wondering what I would have to change if I wanted to receive in the 2m band? I think using the Si5351 to generate the quadrature sounds like a good idea too. Do you have any recommendations for the type of capacitors to use?
This setup doens't work for me, My pc doesn't detect it as a Joystick, but only as a ATMega16U2
You need to flash the atmega16u with batch program in order to make it work

i don't know if you are still with this oscilloscope, or about your conditions, but I just bought this oscilloscope: Dso2512g in Ali Express, and it just works fine. Not so expensive, 80usd.Great video!
Hi, Which Uno did You use? I have the R3 version, and it's not working, cuz it has AtMega328P chip, not like Leonardo and Micro.

Cool project. It shows how older more traditional analog technology (RF amplifier, mixers, LP filters) fits in nicely with the software DSP. But today this is a bit of an old-fashioned fairy tale, right? Today we just an ADC at the antenna and send the digital stream into the computer for processing, right?
Yes, thpugh it depends on the speed of the computer. You are not going to be able to do much in the microwave bands for example. Instead you'd problably need to downsample the wanted receive frequency and input that into your computer/raspberry Pi/favourite platform. Some of these modules makes sense to still have it in hardware. A LP is so simple, that it's piece of mind that you are not transmitting harmonics across large amount of the spectrum.

@@dare-er7sw 74hc or cd but i prefere 74HCT its faster than those two and can reach up to 20MHz
@@anissoulhaci2653 Oh. And how far did you go with the CD4066? Does it work up to 12MHz? I'm just curious.
@@dare-er7sw cd4066 i think you can't go above 12 or 14 MHz , (HC or LC ) logics are fairly limited in terms of switching , but the HC or HCT are more faster and can reach above 100MHz
