Most of it is continously knowing where the rough 'combat areas' on the map are, if you aren't actively looking around. For aircraft with bad visibility, most of it is turning half way for a second to get a view of your 6. I use my RS for camera controls/looking around, and make sure to look 360 a few times per minute or two. To summarise: - Watch for black dots(aircraft) - know where there is enemy activity on the map, and possible flight paths they could likely take -pay attention to chat, could have call outs/ allies say their location, helps with IDing dots - Watch for tracer fire -Keep looking around you. Often, the higher an enemy is, more difficult it is to make out their aircraft Quick last second tips: - If you can hear another aircraft's engine, you're likely a second away from being under fire. Break direction - When you know someone is on your six, but they seem unready to fire, try ensure they overshoot. Change direction both vertically and horizontally, so dive diagonally.

@@PartiallyLoyal I usually fly bombers or strike aircraft, while bombers have gunner view and help a lot with situational awareness, some strike aircraft don't have gunner and behave mostly like heavy fighters. I've been flying the French AD-4 to bomb bases and intercept an enemy or two if given the opportunity, as well as to be able to defend myself and dogfight if intercepted. Some bomber gunners are really hard to lead due to the offset camera and the ballistic trajectory that doesn't count for the aim but is still there... I'm able to look around decently in this thing, visibility is really good compared to other strike planes, but still the game horrible render and blurriness makes it easy to lose eyes on the enemy or even to spot if they're flying level close to the ground and I'm flying higher. I usually fly tree top level, so I prefer turn fighters when flying fighter, I find it easier to dodge high speed attacks than to manage energy with fat and clunky planes like the F6F

@@PartiallyLoyal Also, is there any supersonic plane at Sim 9.7 besides the F-104? I'm asking because I'm grinding to the Vautour bomber, which is at Sim 9.0 and has a top speed of close to 1100km/h. Accounting that I will be playing mostly on the U.S. side, what are the faster planes that can carry missiles and catch me? Note, the Vautour at 9.0 has no gunner or nose guns, so defensive flying, avoiding getting spotted and high speed are my crucial factors, and being able to either outrun or maintain distance would be nice

@@PartiallyLoyal And should I research the F-84 strike plane or the Ouragan first? I'm intending to have good visibility, the ability to bomb bases (none of them can finish one in a single sortie, but both have the same payload, just not sure how much it affects the performance. I also want the ability to either turn fight or outrun enemies, which one of them is more survivable in Sim?

yeah, this was a ground battle in ardennes, for Sim ground, they rotate the BR brackets
