Peter Jubber is an extraordinary Science teacher. I had the privilege of being taught by him and teaching with him and I feel fortunate enough to now count him as a friend. Amongst the many things I learnt from him the most salient has been the importance of giving boys fresh and frequent feedback. Pete marked tirelessly and always got our work back to us the next time we saw him. We now know that feedback is one of the most important levers in effective teaching. Pete has always known this. He also used humour to great effect - "if two turkey buzzards eat eight horseburgers then how many will fifteen eat?" I have tried to emulate these two things in my career.

Evan Brown has taught me so much - first as a pupil, then as a colleague and now as a friend. 39 years on staff at Hilton College - our school owes him a huge debt of gratitude and so do I.

Ian (Smiler) McLachlan was years ahead of his time as a Maths teacher - I think he still is. Along with my father he inspired me to become a Maths teacher myself. He has been my mentor ever since and I owe him an enormous amount.

Amongst many other roles Anthony Lovell served our school as an extraordinary school master, English teacher, cricket coach, housemaster, director of remarkable plays and director of Academics. I was fortunate enough to have him as my English teacher and Housemaster. An absolute legend of the place.
