OSHA would have a heyday with this process nowadays!

This is great! Thank you for sharing. Is there a video demonstrating with such lucidity the modern state of the art of bookmaking?

I see pallet jacks haven't changed in 80 years. I love seeing these women in their dresses, standing up working for HOURS doing tedious work. Every time someone opens their yap about bringing manufacturing back from China they should watch this. Lintotype machine is awesome, one firm in San Fran (Arion Press) still does books that way, tho I think the hotmetal they're using is lead (low print runs) not copper. This process looks like it uses a ton of copper for each book. Dopeheads would come a knockin' come midnight if this was how we still made books.

How far we’ve come in less than 100 years. Makes you wonder how books will be consumed 100 years from now, if humans haven’t destroyed themselves by then.

The narrator sounds like Ronald Reagan.

@Imnothecrazyone funny...i was wondering that myself, but i guess thats how all narrators sounded -- bit of a mix of recording devices and style i guess

Why does the narrator sound like he's speaking to a brain-damaged 5-year-old?

First.. books arent printed and bound that way anymore, havent been for decades. Second: there was more skill involved than is apparent. Third: you are a bunch of ADD wusses. Those jobs paid well and time flew. Fourth: In future the super wusses you raise, if they give you a procreation license will marven that you cut your own food with an unguarded knife. /rant
