Hi, in Germany with begin of the new year 2025 on stamp for an international postcard is now 1,25 Euro from 0,95! Within Germany it was in 2024 0,70 euro and now it's 0,95. But as I am reading the other comments I think it is still quuuuuite affordable in comparison to the rest of the world, but still it hurts
That's a huge percentage increase yet as you say still favourable to the cost in many countries. Have you been able to buy stamps ahead of the price increase? Sadly I'm full expecting the UK to do two price increases this year if they copy pervious years.
Have you tried the charity bookshop in Billingshurst?
Ooh! I've not, I'll have to take a look. Thank you 😊
You could spend the whole day there for sure😊
There was a coach trip on the day I visited. 😊 It's a great destination all year round
Excellent video! I got a few second hand decorations this year in charity shops, most Santa themed. Some shops don't have a big selection and there was one where it was spread out throughout the shop, so you had to look. Merry Christmas!☃️
Thank you. Oh wow, surely that would make it more difficult for the staff in January. The shops near me have a strict schedule for the Christmas bits, when I asked if they had any in June (for a craft project) they said they did but they wouldn't be out until November! 😂
I haven't decorated for Christmas this year, and I don't expect that I will. It just doesn't feel right this year.
I hope you still get to have some festive joy, or at least a rest and reset before the new year. Plus, a year in the not to distant future where you feel like celebrating even more than normal.
I love the bluebell glass you picked up
Aw, thank you. If I'm thinking of the right item it was by Gisela Graham, and I was very excited to spot it 😊
Oh that Christmas jumper at 4:32 in, I think, Revitalise! I LOVED it (and I never ever wear Christmas jumpers). I don't even think it would have fitted me, but I so wanted it! Great charity hunt!
They were sneaky Christmas jumpers. They must have been from an online retailer as in person the design was printed on 😮
I'm new to this, but will also be sending from the UK. How do you know how many stamps to put on, and which ones?
The royal mail has a price guide. It seems that prices go up twice a year so it worth checking with royal mail. Stamps which say 1st or 2nd increase in value when the prices go up. So can be good to buy in bulk. Then for international mail you can use any combination of stamps as long as they add up to the value you need (royal mail won't mind if you put extra on!). You can get stamps from your post office, Royal mail online or trustworthy online retailers. The cost is based on weight and size. But a standard postcard tends to be the cheapest item to send. Any questions feel free to ask. If in doubt your local post office will give you the correct stamp but it might not be as fun as selecting your own
@ thanks this is really helpful!
I wonder which country your first Postcrossing postcard will go to? 😁
@@tinymouse.travelI sent it today- Germany!
That's a great country to start off with. If you are UK based, or Europe it should get there quite quickly. Then you'll get the lovely surprise of someone else sending you a postcard
I also love the charity shops in Alton. Jane Austen's house is great.
This reminds me I need to get back to her house for another visit while I still have membership. 😂 Have you ever visited Chawton House? It's been on my list for ages but have never been.
I signed up for Postcrossing and just mailed my first postcard to somebody from poland, hoping I receive a postcard from the U.K!
Oh wow, I hope you enjoy Postcrossing. 😊 You've got a good chance of receiving a card from the UK as we are top 10 for numbers of postcrossers, maybe even top 5

I love this cute anteater 💖

The little soft play in the toddler area with the rides, does that just all come out on one side or are they able to get out on the other side? thanks!
I think it just comes out on one side (towards studio 36), but if I remeber rightly there are multiple doors. (I think)
Another great one!! :)
😊 Thank you
Wow clinique!
Yep 😁 a great surprise
In Chichester there are two interesting charity shops on Terminus Road. St Wilfred’s and Stonepillow. Lots in town but these are big and interesting.
Ooh! Thank you I'll have to check them out next time I'm in Chichester 😁
Keep up your video you will get there ❤
😊
I love the garden centers in the UK. I really wish we had something similar here. ❤🎄
Hi Rene 😊 I've taken them for granted, it seems surreal they aren't everywhere that there are gardens
Aslan 🦁👑
Ah yes! 🦁
Beautiful, thank you for sharing. I am feeling a little jealous as I would need to travel 400km + to see a Christmas display even slightly similar to this. Today's temperature is 37°c degrees (hot and windy), and it's not even lunchtime yet, so your post has been a lovely distraction to this heat 🇦🇨🦘
I'm guessing it wouldn't help if I said we even had snow today. It didn't lay where I live for more than five minutes but some areas have been having a snow day and making snowmen. I'll try and capture as many of our Christmas events as possible so hopefully it'll transport you digitally.
That looks like a great gift :) very chic :)
😊
I love your videos, thank you for making me feel Christmassy 💖

Brilliant, magical video! I love it!!
😊 Thank you
Wow!!

Thank you for sharing, enjoyed you opening products, and sharing what was inside
I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Very nice and cozy)
😊 Thank you
Jolablokaflod is an Icelandic tradition where people have a new book and drink hot chocolate, on Christmas Eve. My husband and I started doing something similar a couple of years ago, instead of spending Christmas Eve doing last minute things, including hours of wrapping presents, which is what I used to do. It’s so nice to have everything done earlier and then to have that quiet, cosy Christmas Eve relaxing with our books and some favourite chocolates.
It sounds perfect. My friend is organising Jolablokaflod this year, and I can't wait. Her message came through just after I recorded this video. A book and chocolates on Christmas Eve sounds perfect, I've also found myslef faced with a mountain of presents to wrap whichbis never fun under time pressure.
Are there any books you'd recomend that maks great Christmas Eve reading?
Code: Fall - I am on a short break from ""Official" postcards as I want slots free for my next trip, I'm going over to Ireland in a few weeks and found some very nice stamps, In Ireland it is €2,20 to send a postcard.
€2.20 is a great price. Is that for international? Ireland will be lovely at this time of year.
How can i join. Im from namibia africa

hallo I'm from Namibia in Africa an I just love to see your shops and life. you just got a new subscriber

Bauble! Great minds think alike. My mum's just had a clear-out and dropped off a bag of Christmas decorations at our local charity shop too. We live near Wentworth Garden Centre in South Yorkshire and it's similar to yours. Has an ice rink and festive markets and all sorts going off at Christmas. Usually gets mobbed though so we always try and avoid the weekends whenever we can. My tree's an eclectic mix of vintage (my grandma's), Harry Potter and little build-a-bear teds for my daughter (she's 21 soon!), my UFOs, and ones we've picked up on our various trips. Bit mad but it works for us. I love advent calendars too and I started a new tradition last year of gifting my mum a bagful of 25 books wrapped up and numbered for each day, which she absolutely loves. Try to source as many as I can from charity shops or eBay to keep the cost down. She always sends me a pic of which one she's opened each day. Good fun. Love your videos, exactly what I need to help me unwind after a manic day at work. Thank you. 🎄
Oh wow an ice rink! Nearer to Christmas one of our local garden centres often has reindeer, although I'm not sure they were there last year. Decorations that have a personal story are my favourites. Your book advent idea! I think I'll have to keep an eye out while thrifting to get ahead for next year 😊
Awesome video! During October, I was focusing on Halloween, as it's always overlooked by Christmas. What a greedy holiday! It starts in September, when all the mince pies arrive, up until the end of the year. Four months of Christmas! I might put up my decorations up soon. Excellent video and so enjoyable. Merry Christmas!
Thank you 😁 This year I saw my first Christmas advert in June, the dat after the summer solstice 😳 which was definitely far to early. Being in the UK where we have fireworks night on 5th November that feels like a good starting point, but this year i couldnt resit getting festive a few daya early.
Jaks name of the bar...
Ah yes, thats it! I wonder if they will bring it back!
Just right to get me in the mood for Crimbo. The original version of 'Christmas Wrapping' was by The Waitresses. I love to play it every year.
❤️ It's so festive. I knew it wasn't a Spice Girl orginal 😊 prob about time for another pop group to cover it again 😂
Oooh so many beautiful baubles and decorations, I live in Leicester and don’t think we have a Haskins garden centre here, tfs x Julie
I'm nit sure how many there are of them but it is a local tourist destination especially near Christmas where coach companies organise day trips! Do you have a different branch if garden centres.
Bauble! Also, I enjoyed your video very much. Seeing all the different decorations you guys have over in the UK was so cool.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I have a few more similar videos planned. It's so exciting now the shops are all looking Christmassy. Is it the same where you are?
It is the same here! It's not too cold here but the shops are lightly decorated. The shops where you live look extra festive though!
This garden centre goes into 110% Christmas mode, I hoping to visit London before Christmas as central London also seems to turn into a Christmas movie at this time of year.
I visited Arundel the other weekend - i spotted a lovely second hand bookshop Kims Bookshop - picked up a vintage style Christmas books greetings card and then a copy of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving - gorgeous vintage copy,
Oh that sounds amazing. I don't think I spotted the bookshop when I visited, but that's a perfect excuse for another visit 😊
@@yvonnecrawford8906 Kim’s is great - I usually pick up something there.
I'll have to take a look next time I'm there 😊 I might be popping that way in the next few weeks
Amazing funfair ride, I didn't know this was at Butlins! :)
And the funfair is free for guests 😊
I loved your video, so warm and cosy for a chilly day :) 🎃🎃🎃💖
Thank uou 😁🎃😁
Pumpkin! 🎃 love your autumn table vibes 🍂 🎃 Thank you for another great video. I love seeing which cards you use. I’ve recently had surgery and then caught Covid, so I’m having a bit of a break, and anticipating that I’ll have a few empty Postcrossing and Postfun slots by the time I’ll be ready to start up again ❤️
Thank you 😊🎃 I hope you fell better soon surgery and covid doesn't sound like a pleasant mix at all. Oohh, I've not heard of that other website. I'll have to check it out. How does it compare to Postcrossing?
@ Postfun is an app, and it’s not bad. There seem to be a lot of people in Russia and Belarus, so sometimes it can take a while for a card to arrive, but I don’t mind.
I wonder if there are good postage rates in Russia and Belarus they are popular contries on Postcrossing too. From the UK the cards arrive quite quickly. I love the style of their cards especially their Christmas cards.
I love them! I wrote 4 cards this week and received 4 too :)
Now that's true happy mail. 😊
So beautiful
😁
It's even more atmospheric in person

Hi Tinymouse, love your channel! I started Postcrossing this summer after seeing one of your videos, I had never heard of it until then. Thanks for introducing me to a fun new hobby. Happy Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night x
I'm so glad you discovered Postcrossing and are enjoying it. 🎃🎃, 🎆🎇🎆🎇
Yes, this year has gone very quickly. We don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia. I think it is because we are in Spring and not Autumn. But I do enjoy watching U.K TH-cam channels who decorate for Halloween.
Do you have any addition celebrations when it is yiur Autumn? Is there a celebration you have that hasn't reached the UK or USA yet?
