Very glad to have the final word about this. I always thought they had come to an agreement out of court. The judgement is just an awful deny of justice. Where, in the world, did the judge saw floating rocks or arches mountains. Every detail of the production design came from Roger Dean's artwork. It would have been an honorable thing to at least mention in the opening credits : "Thanks for Roger Dean for having planted the seeds". Cameron is a very good film maker and a good painter too, but he is also a nasty piece of work.

Quite pathetic how American directors are always so reluctant to acknowledge their sources of inspiration, it happened too with Lucas not acknowledging the ideas taken from Jodorowski's Dune for Star Wars, and Spielberg not acknowledging he simply copied the Secret of the Incas for Indiana Jones. They should realize that giving credit to original artists would enhance the value of their own movies.
