Bring Canadian or American with you. You can usually get a smoking deal exchanging money at the market or with your bellboy. You can get money at the bank but you will get a horrible exchange rate so we wouldn't recommend that. We exchanged a couple times through the week. You don't want to have any Cuban pesos left so don't go overboard. Thanks for watching

@cyntil4362 thanks for the suggestions! We are back in Canada now. We have a couple videos left from our travels there that are already filmed but not edited yet. We try to put out 1 full length video a week. But... These are now on our radar for the next time we travel to Puerto Vallarta.. The Pinnacle hotel sunset sounds like it would be phenomenal and we are looking forward to it. We will definitely hit Burro's Bar. It actually sounds familiar to us for some reason. @@beachbumbling ...ya..I'm on the island(BC)... lots of good memories in that area in the last year...we hired a car(Blue Car Service-excellent service btw)... picked us up from PV hotel, and drove us to condo in Manzanillo)...we got to relax and look out the window while supporting locals... Then picked us up from Manz and back to PV a week later..we both really enjoyed having someone else navigate the highway and it's 600 turns..

@@cyntil4362 We spent a week at the Barcelo in Manzanillo a while back but we flew. How long did it take to drive there from PV? and yes sometimes driving in Mexico can be a bit hectic when you aren't used to it that's for sure. We have rented a car the last couple times as we wanted to explore a lot of the smaller towns around PV. Not my favorite place to rent a car...We can appreciate having a driver.

Thanks. Cancun is one of the worst for sure but so far the best rental company we have come across for Mexico. Airport taxis have been overpriced almost everywhere we have been but Cancun was on a different level.

Let me revise that statement on the prices… there are places there that will charge you double what those prices were at Krazy Lobster. I took pics of their menu, and what was in the video still seem to be the case.. but look for a Menu before you choose a beach club. I did enjoy my conversation with the owner of the Crazy Lobster. He seemed to be a straight forward guy

@@ronniehall6784 wow thats crazy. We didn't have to negotiate the massages at that price but there was only 1 ship at port. We had our massages near the end of the day when the cruise traffic was all heading back to the boat so that may have had something to do with the better price. We noticed the same thing in Cozumel. @aviandv frustrating. They were so condescending to Kim when they spoke to her. The guy in the vest was the same person I spoke with on the phone. Instead of doing what we agreed to, he opened up a fresh booking and charged more per day as well as billed her for extra insurances. Quite a sh*t show really. We just said it's our credit card, we are paying against our booking # not the new one. Took us about an hour an 20 min to get out of there. Good thing we weren't catching a plane..what company are you guys using ?

@@beachbumbling Sorry you guys had to deal with that! It sounds super frustrating. We've used Avis, Enterprise and Europcar. Europcar pulled the too good to be true price online only to add on extra mandatory fees when picking the car up bait and switch thing that is so common in Mexico. The other 2 were great to deal with. No extra fees or anything. We got the best price by calling Avis directly. They gave us a lower price than what was listed online and the price quoted was the price we paid. Maybe this was one of those times when Avi's ability to speak Spanish came in handy, but our recommendation would be not to use booking sites like Expedia or Booking, don't use the deep discount buget companies like Fox or Thrifty, and to call their office, directly. This sounds like a great video topic, eh? "The dos and don'ts of renting a car in mexico" 🤣

@seanorich we have been very fortunate so far. Not too many shortages for us but we have heard from a lot of our subscribers about the shortages they have experienced. We threaded the needle on eggs apparently they didn't have them the week before we got there so we were grateful to have them.No mixed drinks for 10 days would be a deal breaker for Karen. First stop, the market for rum ..😀. The big question is will you go back to Cuba?

Well at least you are aware of the reality of shortages. We both brought bottles of vodka with us and some powdered ice tea mix and powdered Ceasar mix just in case. We plan on going back after the new year

We might have to give it another go. You make it sound much more interesting! We stayed in Bucerias a long time ago and were surprised at how much it had grown since we had been there. We plan to stop there for a couple days next time we are in the area. We have enjoyed a lot of the coastal town's both North and South of PV and you are right, the entire Bahia IS paradise! @@beachbumbling Sunwing used to fly out of Toronto and directly on the island. We'd stay at Memories. The island is on its own only for tourists. It's 70km off the coast of Cuba. Very short drive to any resort on the island. I recently went online to book a holiday for 2015. The island is on the list I called Sunwing. The lady suggested I check back in September.

@arie4994 there are four a la carte restaurants on the property. Diamond club can go to all four. The Mediterranean is only for the diamond club for breakfast or supper. No charge but reservations are required. We were diamond club and when we got there they handed us a slip with reservations already made for all 4 restaurants. You can change the times but I believe you will need to wait in a line to do so. Thanks for watching the video and have a great time. Cheers

Wow that sounds horrible. We were there at Easter and had minimal shortages and just a little funky smell limited to really one area. Sounds like two vastly different experiences.
