    7prc 65gr H1000 &180grn pill = 2990fps?? But takes 7 REM Mag 69 grains but goes 2884fps??? This is out of a reloading manual to me. It’s smells very fishy. I think the main difference is you’ll see a little better accuracy out of the chamber design 2800 FPS is what the 7prc is going to run at. Just like I can run my 6.5 Creedmoor at 2800 was 140 grain bullet but do I really want to do that all the time and put that extra stress when it runs very happily at 2700 FPS ?

    I don't think anybody claims the 7PRC produces higher velocities than the 28 nosler. We all know the 28 nosler SMOKES the PRC for velocity at the muzzle. Its just that the factory twist rate on the 28 nosler won't stablize the highest BC bullets such as 175 eldx so you are limited to the 162 eldx. If you get a custom 1:8 twist barrel, the 28 nosler will smoke the PRC at all ranges, but not with the 1:9 factory barrel. Its at ranges 500 and beyond where the PRC starts to catch up because of the higher BC bullets it can stabilize with a much lower recoil.

    Weather right are wrong I drank the 7mm prc cool-aid because I had a 7 mag with a 26 inch barrel and I shoot suppressor so 26+6 and my rifle was over 14 pounds without bipod. I felt like I carry a boscucca hunting and it seemed like was always hitting every tree. I watched a video with someone shooting 7prc and he was loosing maybe a 150ft pre second with 20 inch barrel and I was hooked. I hated to hunt with that 7mag rifle. I was new to guns and hunting when I built it. I was told that I need at least a 26 inch barrel or I was wasting my time. Now my rifle with suppressor, scope, bipod weights 9.8 and I love it. Max length 26 with suppressor.

    I looked at the 300PRC, for a long time. Decided to go with a modified 300WSM instead. It has to go in a long action. Kicks a bit less, and accomplishes the same goal with less powder, less recoil. I did go into a very popular sporting goods store in Eau Claire Wisconsin and saw about 40 boxes of 100 count Lapua 300PRC brass on sale at $140/box. I really thought about going that route at that moment due to the Lapua brass. I probably should have picked up about 10 boxes anyway

    Those heavy 30 caliber bullets really carry their velocity and energy well. I’m finding even in my 30.06 that a 190 grain bullet like the Speer impact just hangs on to its velocity so much better than a lighter bullet that might start out 300 or 400 fps faster, it doesn’t take long at all until the heavy slower bullet takes over.

    • @longrangex6083
      @longrangex6083 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @Accuracy1st
      @Accuracy1st 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm testing 190 Speer impacts currently in my modified 300WSM, along with 190 Nosler ABLR, and 210 Berger VLD. I'm using a 9 twist Brux 4 groove 24" barrel and have brass from ADG, Norma, and Nosler. I got a reamer made from JGS with a dummy round using a 210 Berger VLD where it seats out long like a PRC. I also opened up the chamber by 0.002 to hopefully obviate early clickers. I also have a few more 30 cal barrels in process with slower twist rates to continue testing. I'm saving my 190 gr bullets for the slower twists but all 3 shoot very well so far. I'm considering getting some Hornady 212 ELDX and 225 ELDM. As of today with the 210 Berger I'm up to 2850fps with Reloder 22.

      @@longrangex6083 I watched your youtube video on the 6.8 Western. Apparently there's a lot of people comparing it to the 7PRC and it's holding its own. But I have something better which I just started testing yesterday and today. I took a 7PRC brass and necked it down to 270. Made a dummy round with a 170 Berger and sent it to JGS to get a reamer made following Alex Wheeler's concept on chamber dimensions. As of yesterday, I'm at 3144fps with the 170 Berger VLD in a 24" K&P barrel 8 twist. No pressure signs yet. If you plug the numbers into Berger's website and compare this to the 180 Berger VLD in a 7PRC at 3000fps, the 270-7PRC wins in energy and drop. Also testing the 165 Nosler ABLR. I have 2 Brux barrels in process and I'm going to relax twist rate to 8.5 for one and 8.75 for the other. Slowest twist that will stabilize the bullet, as you know, leads to better velocity and typically more accurate

    Ordered a standard muzzle brake from Witt Machine nearly 2 months ago. They charged my CC but never processed my order nor issued me a refund. I gave them more than 30 days to do so before contacting them. I then asked by email when the order would ship, and was told "That should be shipping out by the end of the week or first of next week" and then, after claiming my order was manufactured but somehow lost, "I am having them remake it with top priority." All they had to do was drill a single hole in a pre-machined muzzle break. They didn't. Needless to say, the order remained in "processing" status and I never received anything.. I asked for a refund and was sent a PDF of the electronic refund transaction. I reviewed my account for several days and no refund appeared. I again contacted a Witt representative, who then stated that there was a system issue on their end and the refund rejected. I was then promised that a refund check would be sent (no explanation why they couldn't attempt the electronic refund again). It's been well over a week now and no check. I threatened them will legal action and their verbatim response was, "If you want to pursue legal action that is your prerogative but then you will be out a lot more that $88 dollars..." After reviewing the email exchanges, my bank approved (and is now processing) a chargeback on this fraudulent transaction. This is a fraudulent and deceitful company that will take your money and give you the runaround for months, maybe forever. Don't take my word for it; do a search on customer reviews for them and read the forums. Many, many others have had experiences similar to mine. They have an "F" Better Business Bureau rating and aren't even BBB accredited.

    Not sure if you consider 175 grain bullets heavy, but my sako s20, 7 mag, with a 1-9.5 twist is producing .22 inch groups with berger bullets and h1000. I'd say it stabilizes the 175's just fine. Havent tried 180's yet, but 175's at 2950 fps is fast enough to kill anything I shoot at out to 1000 yards.

    Your video brings up some good points but I think the real debate is about which is better with a factory rifle shooting factory ammo. In that category, the 7 PRC would be a better choice. Ammo choice, recoil and barrel life are all better with the PRC. Plus, Hornady's marketing department is good. Nosler didn't do as good of a job and factory ammo choice isn't good either. You can't even do an apples to apples comparison between these two cartridges because no ammo manufacturer loads the same bullet for each cartridge. NOW, all of that goes out the window when you build a custom rifle and handload. There is no comparison whatsoever. My 28 Nosler can send Berger 195 EOLs at 3175 fps and maintain .4 MOA. That just isn't possible with a 7 PRC. For the lazy hunter that pulls his rifle out of the safe once a year and shots 3 rounds to verify zero, the 7 PRC is the easy button. For a serious shooter/hunter, the 28 Nosler can't be beat.
