The US Post Office worked great for me! Many police departments and sheriff's offices offer fingerprinting services as well, but I think using a USPS location that offers fingerprinting is the easiest method!

@@rissavele. No worries :) I brought 2 checked bags and a backpack! I honestly had a lot of things though and ended up leaving 2 trash bags full of things that I didn't bring back with me.

We used Autobuses La Union. I don't think they run every day, but I usually use Omio for booking my bus transportation. There's also BlaBlaCar, but I have not used that.

I tried to find some helpful information for you and have the below, but always check with official websites and the consulate. If you've lived in multiple countries in the last five years, it appears you need police clearance certificates from each country. Yes, I believe you can use your FAFSA loans as proof of financial means for your Spain student visa application. You'll need to provide documentation that confirms the amount of the loan you've been awarded and any other financial resources you'll be using to cover your expenses while studying in Spain. Additionally, you may need to provide a bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover any remaining expenses. I advise bringing extra documentation just in case! Good luck!!

I don't know for certain, but I believe that if you plan to visit France before your Schengen student visa for Spain becomes valid, you will need to apply for a separate short-stay Schengen visa (type C visa) from the French consulate or embassy in New York. This visa will allow you to visit France for up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism or other purposes. I advise you ask the French consulate for advice though.

Yes! Their communication isn't great, but if you email them saying you want to make an appointment, they will respond with the information they need to give you a day and time.

I used the Osprey Sirrus 36 Backpack amzn.to/3hjgox9 . I brought it on the plane as a carry-on! If you plan to bring hiking poles, you have to check those. I would recommend buying hiking poles in Spain rather than bringing them.

Hi Claudia! My pack weighed 12.8 pounds, about 5.8 kg, not including water or snacks. I also purchased hiking poles once I was in Spain. I never weighed my pack with water and food, only without it. I hope that helps! Buen Camino

Hi! Yes, I was able to bring the backpack as a carry on. I did purchase hiking poles in Spain and could not bring them back to the states afterwards. If you have those, they need to be checked.

I'm glad you enjoyed! I actually ended up using packing cubes in my bag. It helped organize everything and made it so nothing was really loose. Hi Celtic, I am more than happy to help! I walked for 11 days and the timeframe within each day changed for every individual in my group. Generally, we started walking between 5-7 am depending on the distance. We tried to stop/take a break every hour and then halfway through the walk we would switch our socks, and sometimes re-vaseline our feet. There were days where we finished at 1 pm and others where we ended at 5 pm. It honestly depends on the person, but I suggest you listen to your body and break when it feels right. It was pretty warm in September, but I needed a long-sleeve/sweatshirt early in the morning. Foncebadon was the only town where I wished I had had more layers. I hope this helps! Buen Camino :)
