Traces of the old Termplar Barracks Kahawa still exist and have been heavily built upon and expanded by Kenyatta University. Templar Barracks was constructed in 1961 but was never finished. It was built to accommodate two British Infantry Battalions and their accompanies families. In 1962/3 they were 1st Battalion Staffordshire Regiment (which replaced 1st Bn Inniskillen Fusileers) and 2nd Battalion Scots Guards under command of 12th Infantry Brigade. The task of the Army in Kenya was to provide a reinforcing Brigade for Aden. Brigade HQ together with 1st Battallion Black Watch and an Armoured Unit were based at Lanet, North of Nairobi. School Domestic Science class on left at 33.18. Other buildings on right are post-1963 constructs built on what was the very large school Playing Field which now contains many post 1963 buildings. It is sobering to think that of the hundreds of small children under 12 years old who attended that shool, all are either now retired old-aged pensioners or have since died. Kenya was the happiest time of my life as a child and it will always have a very special place in my heart for that beautiful land. Thank you so much for this video. Much appreciated.

Matter of FACT - they WANT TO LEAVE once finished with their education, vocation and have STARTED their own CARRIER - or in that PROCESS! Many parents in Sweden ENCOURAGE their young to improve themselves, like to go to higher education like universe or to a vocational training, may it so be in another town. To form their own life, with SUPPORT from their FAMILY and PARENTS, if this is possibly. Alas this ISN'T ALWAYS the case - there is ALSO DYSFUNCTIONAL families HERE!
