Golschman's conducting is excellent. I think. The music is made to sound as if Rubinstein's piano playing was great. Technically speaking, Rubinstein's performance has some parts that are quite questionable. I can't help but find the way he deceives people in this area amusing. Listening to Chopin's mazurkas and polonaises from the SP recording era, they perfectly express the sadness of the homeland sandwiched between Germany and the Russian Empire. That's amazing. However, Mozart here is full of happiness, a sense of openness, and is extremely great.

The piano sounds very nice most of the time. However, sometimes when difficult forte fast passages are played, some painos start to resonate with their wooden key structures. Otherwise they stay 'melodic' and more pleasant to listen to. Is it the fault of the pianist or of a pianos structure. Maybe more expensive pianos are less prone to such resonance?
