the name of the song is called Xiao Ao Jiang Hu aka Smile Proud Jiang Hu. Jiang Hu is the term for the martial arts world that wu xia people refer to in ancient china and also kungfu novels or movies. This song is the theme song from the 90s hong kong film called Swordsman. Theres 3 movies in this series and the first one is called Swordman. You can try to seach with these names on youtube or google and see if you can find the original moviw to watch. this song is very well loved by many chinese because not only is the composer for this song a very good master, the lyricist is also one of the best in that time. The lyrics of the song talks abt how uncertain the fates of everyone and everything is in the world of jiang hu, man seeks after power, wealth and dominion, yet he is always mocked by the winds, seas and the mountains bcoz nothing is forever. yet man still tireless pursues these things.. and who wins or looses, who will emerge victorious or be defeated..only the heavens know. the movie this song is based on talks abt the corrupted imperial rule during the certain dynasty (which i forgot which).. it was then held in power by the eunuchs who were not just powerful in martial arts, but also in wealth and the running of the country at that time. With their corruption, they abused the emperors and the common people.. Many righteous sects dare not fight against the ppwer of these eunuchs as they were very viciously wiped out. In the movie, the male protagpnis Ling Hu Chung, who is a diciple of a righteous sect was sent down the mountain with his younger disciple sister to meet with his other disciple brothers..but along the way..they met with dangers and while most of the other disciples doesnt know whats goong on politically speaking..Ling Hu Chung realises that something is very wrong and theres someone in their sect who has betrayed the sect for greed of power and fame. He decided to uphold justice in his own way after he met an unnamed elder who taught him the man's self developed killing moves.. and later met the two elders who wrote this famous score and lyrics in the story. this is all in the Swordsman. Pls watch the movie if u can fond it..because the sequels also became very famous movies for the hong kong film.industry..kinda like Lord of the Rings of the chinese movies. The original Xiao Ao Jiang Hu was sung by some veteran hk actors and the actor for Ling Hu Chung himself. The full song is even more beautiful to listen to. This live version was cut short..but it is as close to the original that ive heard. Hope this helps..
