Dc 10 or a b 39 from England
Awesome
Yes!!!
Excellent presentation! As a kid I was always fascinated by hovercraft, and I have to say as an adult, I still am. It appears that maybe they aren't the best over rough waters, but I would love to have a small personal one for out here in lake country!
Thank you for you kind words :) It would be super cool to be able to have a go on a smaller one… or a big one! Haha I can imagine they would be super useful where you are too!
Nice footage of my Dragons. Purple and Orange ones .There were 5 present of the 18 or so that exist in the world. Shame you did not get any footage of the biggest one.
My grandfather actually worked on designing the cooling systems for a lot of Saunders Roe's creations, including this hovercraft! Thankyou for sharing the info you have on this wonderful machine!
Now there is a conversation that would be cool!
Great video, just can't help thinking they need to clean it, a little jet wash a little polish
Honestly it is such a shame it is in so much disrepair. The museum is run by volunteers and they try their best!
I had the dubious pleasure of travelling on one of the SR.N4 craft in around 1996 - there and back for a holiday. The interior was not luxurious, it was basically like being on a coach. The ride was not smooth, it was pretty jarring. Much like hydrofoils and Concorde, the hovercraft was a product of Harold Wilson's 'white heat of technology' - they were all phenomenal technological advances, but drank like an alcoholic at a free bar and weren't terribly refined modes of transport..... by good grief they were fast! Thanks for the review though - a worthy subject (posted from the Isle of Wight, by an irregular user of the world's only commercial hovercraft service, as briefly featured in the video)
Your lucky to have ridden a hovercraft when it was part of public transportation.
@@TheMooseHoose it still is! Many trips on public transport hydrofoils, too.
Interesting, it went out of service before I was ever able to catch a ride! Thank you for your experience as it’s people sharing that keeps these machines alive. I personally traveled on the IoW hovercraft and found it to be quite smooth, but it was a nice day haha. Perhaps my next trip should be on a stormy day! You never know with the ever changing world of batteries and electric we may find a slight resurgence in hovercraft technology, but we may be a long way off yet.
@@Mrsashquatch-v3.0 The Isle of Wight is still a hovercraft service. Also I don't think anyone is getting rid of these vehicles anytime soon, companies are still making them, other non-passenger companies need them.
I was just thinking about the time I crossed the Channel. It was like a millpond. The pilot came over the tannoy. We've just matched the fastest time to cross. I miss things that made Britain great
Sounds like an awesome experience. I agree we need to bring back our big brain engineers!
Fun fact back in the 1960s I think the 1980s these hovercraft used to well cross the English channel once to France when the fuel prices started going up. These hovercraft become expensive to use and eventually I think the late 1980s services across the channels will be shut down, you can ride in hovercraft is well cross Isle which is less hungry and much smaller. It’s just the past of the hovercraft that we used to have
Awesome fact! Watch my full video for more cool facts! I dive into the history!
Its interesting how it seems like the tramway was better than the current trolley system. We underestimate the intelligence of those who came before us. Great video. 👍
I find people refer to people back then as less intelligent. Which isn’t true, as if it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t have what we got today. Thank you for the positive support :)
@Mrsashquatch-v3.0 If you think about it, they invented many of the systems we have today before they existed, which is an ultimate level of creativity when today we refine and improve mostly.
Cannot imagine the brain it must of taken to figure out half the stuff we have today. 😂
Nice 🫡

Awesome video, Thanks.
Hey Mr Sashquatch !. Brilliant video. I was there too, what a fantastic day. I was the guy with the kite that had the long tale and made a loud rasping sound. I do not live locally but went for the day with my son and we had so many positive comments from people at the festival. See you next year !
@@steveoneill66 I love that! Would like to know how it makes the cool sound! Perhaps I’ll find you next year and see how you do it.
I need to upgrade my sound as well need both lav and shotgun mic setups. Keep us posted on what you find
Definitely will! You keep me posted to. 100% recommend a gimbal!

Ok
First of all...love the intro! What a crazy thing to wake up to (kite festival) thanks for sharing!
Awesome right! We need more of these in our lives :)
Portsmouth and Southsea kite festival is one of many kite festivals held throughout the UK. To find one just google search kite calendar. Sadly we have lost a few festivals over the years. Myself and my partner fly kites as a pair and we also fly with another kite pair as a team. Believe it or not there is even a UK national championship for kite flying with different disciplines. Unfortunately kite flying is not officially recognised as a sport in the UK
That’s fantastic information you have there! Hope to see more next year and I’ll definitely keep an eye out for more events! Thank you

I would like to know what breed my tree is. I received it as a gift. Must admit I need to spend more time trimming it too!
Small pots are the Key because If the roots cant grow then the leafs and stems also cant the rule is: every Thing under the earth and every Thing over the earth has to BE the Same size

We hate it because its the start of the week and first day back to school/work
You also get paid for flight hours. It's not just basic pay.
