Ever since I was a kid I've always wanted to own a Porsche and finally that dream has come true in owning a Carrera 2S. I hope you will follow my journey in owning this car. My channel is all about living with a 911, The good, the bad and the ugly, hopefully not too much of the ugly!! I will be sharing videos on the various mods i plan to do together with repairs and servicing. Hope you enjoy the ride too.
Porsche 911 (997.1) Carrera 2S Full Wheel Alignment
After having the Porsche lowered with ST Springs it needed a full Wheel Alignment. In this video we see the full process. My thanks goes out to all at ProTyre at Nailsea for doing this for me and thanks to my friend at Avon Auto Clinic for fitting the Springs.

Porsche 911 (997.1) Carrera 2S Roof Recondition with Renovo
มุมมอง 10K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Today is a great day to Recondition the roof of my 997 Carrera S with Renovo. One of many videos coming out over this year on planned maintenance, performance enhancements and of course loads of footage of this wonderful car in action. If you like the sound of that please consider subscribing and clicking the bell to receive notifications when my next video is released. Hope you enjoy the video...
Torque the sump plug. It isn’t 1 white knuckle.
I forgot a bolt mate, bring it back 😂😂😂
Same thing happened with my 997.1 4s cabriolet - I had to purchase a new ECU - found a new one on eBay but need a deeler to program it with the keys - unit was around €400 and labour was €600 - so cleaning its a good advice for not having this problem...
It would be a great clip if the tone was better. Now: very exhausting to listen to.
Good video; also have a 997.1 2S Cab and will add this to the project list - thanks! Thanks
Have you done the exhaust change for better sound? I bought a bypass for my 997.2 C2S from a aftermarket place in Germany and the change was radical, but still tolerable to the ear.
sweet music with the neighbors
That dust is a classic case of lint deposit from drying it with a towel. Agree, the reviver is very runny. I thicken it up with cornflour and it works a treat.😎😎😎
Anyone actually try this?
Really good video.
Please use : sonax reifen gel
some tips: With the coil packs out, good time to check the cylinders for bore scoring. With the air filter box out, good time to clean the MAF sensor. With the air filter box out, remove the serpentine belt and check all the pulleys for any free play especially the one on the water pump. Hope this helps others.
Totally agree on your oil choice and OCI, and that you only use OEM filters ! But get rid of that elephant battery, i am pretty sure your starter to alternator harness have gone bad, check that, a major problem on the 997.1 ! I replaced mine, and have now a 70 Amp exide AMG battery, if you measure 1 volt drop from dynamo to the battery, change the starter to dynamo wiring harness !
Regarding the oil change roughly how many litres of oil you put in?
It was a while ago now but I think it was 7.5 litres with a new filter.
@@whiteknuckle8864 ....I’ve been told the shape of the sump you can’t get all the oil out apparently they hold onto roughly half a litre inside Plus I’m not a fan of no dipstick only oil gauge on dashboard....God help if that plays up!
How much it set you back to get it sorted?.....having the module that low down in the footwell is asking for trouble thank god I have a garage for my 997
Thankfully it just needed reprogramming to get it to work 100%. I agree crazy place to put them but I make sure the drain holes are alway clear. Thanks fir watching will have more content coming out soon.
Everyone uses a torque wrench to tighten down plug. There are factory setting guidelines, not just end tight. Also the oil filter cap is usually cleaned before reinstallation to get all the access oil off. A bit sloppy work.
Another thing I do is place a plastic bag over the oil filter housing so any oil that comes out goes straight into the bag saves a lot of mess
Keep them vids coming! ♥️
Vital to have this done after been lowered had my 997 lowered with h&r springs roughly lowered 1” all round ....alignment was way out!
😎😎
This is cool.
On plastic trim your supposed to use a heat gun on low heat. The heat gun reacts with plastic and brings out the black. Don’t hold it on too long. I have used plasti dip myself on a few bits and I didn’t feel it went on very smooth, nice car, made me cringe when you put tools on the roof😂
Get rid of that music pls!
Great review mate Thanks , regarding the cleaning process by scrubbing the surface of the fabric top is going to damage the water proof'?
Thanks for the comments. Part of the process is to reapply the protective sealant. I will be doing a year long update video soon so please subscribe so you know when it’s out.
@@whiteknuckle8864 Thank you so much , for sure happy to follow your account 🙏🏻🌸
Looks fantastic. Would like to know how long it lasts before degradation starts.
Sorry to hear about your problem. I have the same car but a turbo. Fortunately my car is garaged but it still rains in Australia. Could you do an update after Porsche have had their say. Many thanks.
Have you change your IMS?
Kiet Huynh hi I was lucky has the new uprated bearing already installed.
Very useful.. Thanks too much. Thumbs up from me
You should try using a paint paint pad. I use these to get even finishes on wood floors with clear sealants. Very quick and even coating with far less speckling than a brush.
Thought you would have had it service by an opc. Do join Porsche club gb if you havent done
I love it but i don't like that wheel is at the right side of the car . Better to say i don't understand but ok
Can you do a follow up of how is your top after a year? Did it keep the color or it has started to show again a discoloration?
Hi Max V. Thanks for your message. Overall the roof has done well it hasn't lost its colour too much so I'm happy with that. I think every two years if left outside like mine would be a good bet. Thanks for watching
How are your temp and airflow switches in cab?
Hi Chris they are looking a bit worn. A job for the future I think 👍
Turn that stupid music off. So amateurish in producing a vid.
good
Are you in the uk then
Ben Evans yes he is,,
Good Work, thank you!
Dunno if anyone gives a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. Have been watching with my girlfriend recently =)
@Charles Raylan Yup, I have been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself :)
Get to the fucking point. People love to chat to the camera.
You’re getting better with these cinematic’s that drone shot though! Impressive stuff
Great 2nd video-the cabin filter part!!!!
Bought my cabin filter Amazon Roughly £8 bargain....instructions for us spec on right hand side but uk cars left hand side a bit of a fiddle to get in
how much is the new canvas cover part from Porsche? if you own a cabriolet, it maybe a good idea to buy a replacement part, and keep it in safe place unfurled.
Great video, you made it look like I could even do it!
Great first video look forward to more to come!
