My Ancestry DNA Results! (Jamaican Edition)

What good results👍 I also took the DNA test and it came out. 💯 South American very proud of my ancestry and I love my continent South América🌎❤🥰
@@evamamani9026 This video is so old my results have been updated at least twice since. Thanks for watching!
You dont love like more than nigerian ganna namaica
And 0% Native American!!! That’s messed up!! As a Puerto Rican I would’ve been devastated if I had no Taino blood. That’s my biggest pride!! Knowing this land birthed me. Knowing that even though I’m part European and part African, I was already here!! I have a literal attachment to this land. This land is my mother!!
Im 70% sub Saharan African 15% European and 15% native American
Why have I noticed that for many of these reactions there’s always family members convinced that they are part Asian or European or whatever. It’s like they are making it seem like it’s a benefit to them. I can guarantee you Asia will not claim black people nor Europe.
Clearly u don't know we are israelites with it being natural that u have middle eastern traits and with u sounds esau plays a big part in ur lineage
That’s nice dear, but this was years ago and my results have since been updated. Middle Eastern is no longer on my estimated results. Thanks!
West Asia is close to Europe. It's realy Eurasia such as Turkey, Iran, and some of the the countries ending in "stan"
Hey cousin lol ... we have a lot of the same regions
This was 4 years ago and my results have since been updated twice. Some regions were thrown out and some new ones were added.
I wonder if they tell what tribe in Nigeria. I like to think as a Jamaican I'm Ghanaian as well but aren't there similar tribes in both Nigeria and Ghana since neither existed as a "country" per se prior to the Atlantic slave trade.
Dwl your initial expression tho!😂😂 happy for you. We habe no way of knowing as Caribbean people, it is so sad, but I want to do one of those tests.
My results have updated since this video was uploaded. My estimates are totally different now.
U forgot the 40% bulldog nosey ass!!
Dakota Harris The saved playlist on your page is the Holy Bible. I think you might need to go read it again. Remember Genesis 1:27 (King James Version) “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them”. So, if I’m 40% Bulldog so is the God you serve. Let that hate out of your heart, Dakota.
This is wrong you look more Ghanaian sis
Lol my dads Jamaican my moms American I wonder where I'm from in africa we gotta be some what linked girl lol😂😂😂👏👏
BTW you aren’t Zulu. Southern Africa does not mean South Africa. Southern Africa is Angola Namibia Zambia DRC area. I hope you know that the place marked as modern day South Africa no skates were taken out from that region during the trans Atlantic slave trade.
This is really cool!!
Anything under 3% is usually statistical noise.
Afro Asiatic
Thanks for sharing. Since your video goes back more than two years, I am curious if you received recent updates on your estimates?
I recorded an updated video in January, but never uploaded it. I'll let you know if/when I do.
I was going to tell you you should turn up the volume on your video then realized my earphones were not plugged in. Your volume is fine.
Lol. Also, my results changed due to updates by the company.
Lol! I always thought I was mainly Ghanaian! I was shocked when I found out that I was 41% Nigerian! Heard they're about the same thing! I'm about 17% W African and 15% Irish. We might be cousins! 😀
Is that your result since the update that happened in September? Because my results have since changed.
Nigerians and Ghanaians are not the same people
I got 25% Nigerian!
You’ve got more than me, based on recent updates.
This would be through the mitochondria from your mothers side, you would need a male in your family to get your dads dna. And your hair looks bomb girl!
Thank you! It’s grown so much. You should see it now. Also, this particular test shows you the dna you’ve inherited from both parents. I have matched the ones that are definitely from my mother (based on her results), and through speaking with my father I can tell which ones are from him.
you should try AfricanAncestry.com they show you which tribes in Africa you belong too.
That’s been a long debate of mine, but initially might be a waste of money. Since they only pick 1 ancestor out of thousands and based on the fact that I have European dna on both sides I would hate to pay African Ancestry $300.00 to be told about my Europe ancestors.
slave trade. mix all around. your family just happen to settle/land in jamaica.
Absolutely! Also my results have since changed due to upgrades.
Also Iberian is Spain. So you have Latin also
Based on the recent updates it turns out that I have no Spain in me.
Hey Nija sista 🇳🇬
Based on updates I’m not as Nigerian as I was lead to believe. Thanks though!
You’re so funny!!!! Welcome to the Nigerian side lol
Aww thanks love!
Irish people can actually have alot of Iberian DNA. Iberia actually relates to the land and people that were there BEFORE the current spanish and french are now but they also count as people coming after. The people from the Basque country have quite similar DNA to us. Even funnier is the fact that Irish people and Iberians and Irish are descendents from the Berber's (North Africa). Although my picture doesn't look as such, I actually have sallow skin compared to many here and my family are MUCH darker and we're all of Irish decent. It's quite an interesting DNA group.
Thank you for that bid of info. Very insightful!
Because some of us Jamaican are from the igbo tribe and they are Nigerians
Your DNA that is listed as Iberian, Scandanavian, and British, could all have been part of your "Irish" side.
Maybe.
You were very close with your percentage
Yeah. I have a good idea of what both sides of my family are.
Respect From Cameroon
Love you! Thanks for watching.
😍 your beautiful. U have insta
Thank you. It’s @f.shea.m
You are so beautiful!!!!!!
Thank you!
7% ghana idc im still going back and repping because its in my dna
I get nothing but love from Ghana. They love us and we live them.
Im jamaican too straight outta kingston and if not im up 30s or 40s something ghana pecentage im gonna be very mad...
Lol Let me know what you get. You might get 50% European.
That’s pretty dope.
You have to remember that when the slave trade was operating there was no Nigeria. You can upload your results to other sites that will break them down in terms of ethnicity....granted, based on DNA data obtained contemporaneously. I came up 60% West African and 38% British Isles according to ancestry.com. Further analysis gave me my West African ethnic heritage....Fang, Fante, Nzima, Mina and Mandenkan....which I REALLY wanted to know. I also discovered I have no Native American ancestry...which did come as a surprise. It is my opinion that black Americans should be offered free DNA analysis as reparations for our suppressed identities....
Pelu Maad which site did you upload your dna to?
nice have you further ivestigated in to your heritage or read about it?
there was Nigeria back then.only that it wasn't named Nigeria.her dna is a match to people living in current Nigeria.how hard is that
@@gloriasimon697 there wasn’t Nigeria… it was just a large chunk of West Africa with major ethnic groups such as Yoruba/Igbo
@@BAghz00 there was Nigeria Madame only that it wasn't named Nigerian.all the tribes in current Nigerian was in existence at the time.you not gonna tell me about my country.ill tell you.dna was traced to the people currently living in Nigeria or Cameroon means thats where your ancestor was taken from.a tribe in current Nigerian.how hard or difficult is that to understand.all west Africans werent scattered together.we all had our land what ever name it was called my all tribes in current Nigeria.existed prior to transatlantic slave trade.the oyo empire.the benin in Nigeria empire.the biafras that the igbos in Nigeria.the igala kingdom.the hausa and fulani kingdom etc. thats in current Nigeria were in existence prior to the transatlantic slave trade.mschewww
hi there i was watching a different video the girl was 100 percent african and did not know where or what mali was lol. i knew and im 44 african 56 europe according to ancestry dna im 16. percent mali my quadroon son. his father is mexican he got 27 african is 14 percent mali i guess its from me or his father malian slaves where in Mexico. nice results by the way.😊 mali nice region to get .blessings and happy thanksgiving.
I think i saw that video too. I actually have seen more than 1 person feom Africa asked what Mali was. Lol Interesting mix!
I gotta say ancestry was the most accurate one for me. I came at 59% African, 32% european, 3% west asian, and 6% native american. I got 20% iberian and 3% north african and west asian which is in line with my grand father being from Catalonia. My grandmother is fang from equatoria guinea and I scored 29% cameroon which encompasses that region. I also got benin at 20% which makes sense since my mother is from benin. My grandmother is 48% native american, but i only scored 6% on that. kind of weird
Wow! Thats amazing. You have a little of everything! Very mixed.
What's your Jamaican percentage
100%
You got some pretty diverse results. I British born Jamaican and I got well over 90% Have you looked the new genetic communities on ancestry since you did the test.
"Out of many we are one" remember? Yes I see that they've made changes. Will you be sharing your results in TH-cam?
I actually have an Ancestry results video on this channel of mine. Now just to try get as much as my family tree completed.
I'll check out your video!
Your reaction is priceless
I'm Bahamian and idk how I'm 10% Spanish also I'm 23% native.
Well I do believe more natives survived in the Lesser Antilles than Jamaica, so I can believe that 23%, as for 10% Spanish lol that's interesting.
I wasn’t so much hoping, I was surprised because my culture is greatly influenced by Ghana. Our national cloth, to our National Fruit. The stories we are told ect. Plus I had seen a result from a fellow Jamaican who was over 50% Ghanaian. Hope that answers your question.
Thanks for sharing your results. The West Asia covers the Caucasus region (e.g., Turkey, Armenia Syria). In fact, the West Asia portion is "above" the so called "middle east" if you look at the map. Don't confuse West Asian with East Asia (e.g., people from China, Japan etc). Many Eastern and Southern Europeans also have some dna from the Caucasus region.
Thanks for the information and thanks for watching!
I should try this! Interesting...
Go for it!
Akans and Igbos had the most affect on Jamaicans culture. They were usually paired with each other. We must not use the modern country names it confuses the situation. Also the Ghana/Ivory Coast results are fishy because the groups ppl from sierra Leon in it.
you are 100 percent beautiful! good video!
Ike's Lions Den Thank you, that's very kind.
the middle eastern dna may be jewish or arab through your iberian (spanish) ancestors. Spain had a significant jewish and muslim population.
Karan M I suspect it's from a single Christian ancestor who migrated from either Syria, Lebanon, or Palestine in the 1860s/1870s, they migrated to Jamaica fleeing religious persecutions. That math came out at exactly 2%.
Karan M that's actually correct and also the reason why many hispanic people get middle eastern dna, not to mention some spanish cities even to this day, are heavy influenced by arabic culture e.g andalucia
its obvious u mixed with some typa of asian ..look at your eyes
Shanika Blake That's my African Southeastern Bantu, African eyes. Google Nelson Mandela. The Asian in me isn't even the type with East African features. Also I think my eyes only look like that in this video. Idk why. lol
Shea Mc akans have them eyes also.
Please let them know! Lol
lol west asians arent the asiasn u imagine like chinese, west asians are „middle easterns“
