#100days100scrapblocks challenge as we near the year’s end
Big thanks to @Wanda6308 for asking such a great question! 😊 I wanted to share my stitch settings here so everyone can benefit: Stitch width: 9.0 Stitch length: 20 Stitch density: Tested between 0.1 (more dense) and 0.4 (less dense) For reference, I used the Pfaff Performance ICON sewing machine. Quick tip: Test these settings on a scrap piece first to see how they work with your fabric and thread-sometimes those little tweaks can make all the difference! But honestly, going with the flow and experimenting is also so freeing-it’s all part of the fun! And one thing you must use: a stabilizer-it really helps. 🧵✨ If you’re feeling extra creative, why not try sewing with pompom trim? It’s a playful addition to any project, and it really helps us exercise our emotions and how we react to it! I’d love to see what you make with it! 🎀 th-cam.com/video/K0K5jbIh7Zw/w-d-xo.html What machine do you use for your sewing projects? Or do you have a favorite tip for perfecting satin stitches? I’d love to hear from you in the comments! Feel free to share your results if you give this a try!
Hello, I am a new subscriber from Michigan. this is so cute. what size was your stitch length and width please ? I believe I have that stitch design but I want it to come out like yours.
Hello! Welcome to the Let's Cut The Scrap channel, and thank you for subscribing all the way from Michigan! 😊 It’s so good to have you here-I’m thrilled you found the project cute; that means so much to me! For the stitch settings, I used: stitch width 9.0, stitch length 20, and stitch density tested between 0.1 (more dense) and 0.4 (less dense). For reference, I was working on the Pfaff Performance ICON sewing machine. I’m actually thinking of recording a video soon, demonstrating this same satin stitch on different sewing machines. What machine are you using? Quick tip: I recommend testing these settings on a scrap piece first to see how they work with your fabric and thread-those little tweaks can make all the difference! But honestly, going with the flow and experimenting is also so freeing-it’s all part of the fun! One thing you must use: a stabilizer-it really helps. 🧵✨ I’d absolutely love to see how your project turns out-feel free to share it if you give it a try!
@@LetsCutTheScrap thank you so much for your response. my sewing machine is a Brother SQ9185 . I look forward to giving this a try. I would love to share it when finished. I will look for your site to see where to post it. have a wonderful day my new friend
@@Wanda6308 Thank you so much for sharing, my new friend! 😊 I looked up the Brother SQ9185 manual online and noticed that stitches #23, 24, 25, 28, and 87 might mimic the effect really well. A dense zigzag stitch could also do the trick! Since we’re not using any binding, it’s a good idea to go for a satin stitch that completely covers the edge for a clean finish. Oh, and here’s a fun idea-you can take it a step further by changing the direction of the stitch and trimming it to shape! I’ll create a video soon so we can bounce around more ideas together-this is so much fun! 🎥✨ I also did some quick research and saw that your machine (Brother SQ9185) allows a stitch width of up to 7 and a stitch length (density) up to 1.0, with 0.1 to 0.4 being the sweet spot for denser satin stitches. That gives you plenty of room to experiment and play with this technique! I can’t wait to see what you create! Feel free to share your finished project here in the comments, send me a picture at letsconnect@letscutthescrap.com, or tag me on IG or Facebook @letscutthescrap. Have a wonderful day and happy sewing! 🧵✨
@@LetsCutTheScrap Thank you so very much. I really appreciate it
Love your channel!
Thank you so much! I'm so happy my videos are resonating with you. I believe that personal growth is often easier with the support of like minded people. That's why I created this channel - to offer a sense of belonging and encouragement to those on their journey. What specific skills or knowledge would you like to learn more about related to creativity for emotional fitness? I'd love to hear more from you!! 😍
This is such an important message! Most of the time we're taught to 'produce a finished product' and there needs to be more encouragement to just play and enjoy the creative process.
Thank you so much! I completely agree-our creative journey is just as valuable as the end result. Giving ourselves permission to play and explore can be so liberating and healing, especially when it comes to emotional fitness. That’s a big part of what I aim to teach through sewing and quilting-finding joy and strength in the process, not just the finished product. I’d love to hear how you tap into your creativity or what encourages you to just play. Let’s keep this conversation going! ❤️
I enjoy your videos and your message touches my soul
This means the world to me!! Thank you so much for your comment! It is so wonderful when we feel the connection. It is empowering!! Let me know the sewing projects you are currently working on. I’d contribute to your creative journey!! Have a blessed weekend!!
Great video! Trying to get back into sewing & this is the inspiration I needed. Love the idea of just starting small with 10 minutes. Thanks!!🎉🪡🧵
Thank you again! 🎉 I’m so happy to hear this inspired you to get back into sewing. Starting small with just 10 minutes a day is such a powerful way to build the habit-the key is consistency. Find time every day. As I mentioned, sewing and quilting daily truly is a game changer-it can positively influence every area of your life. And I’m here for you! I’m currently developing a membership program to help us boost our emotional fitness and live our best lives unapologetically. Here’s the link to the waitlist: www.letscutthescrap.com/Waitlist. I can’t wait to hear about all the benefits you gain from investing in your creativity! 🪡🧵😊
Is this '100days100scrapblocks' challenge something you are doing just for you? Is there access to see all of these blocks, are there patterns? Not sure exactly how to follow along and see all of them. Thanks
Thank you so much for asking-it’s feedback like this that helps me keep improving my channel, and I’m so super excited to receive your comment! 😊 The #100Days100ScrapBlocks pursuit is something I started to honor and share my story of transforming losses into gains, reconnect with my creativity, and process emotions through sewing. It’s been such a meaningful journey, and I’m thrilled it resonates with you! Right now, I’m doing my best to share the blocks daily on Instagram, but the goal is to upload the longer versions of the videos here on TH-cam soon so everyone can follow along more easily. These aren’t traditional patterns-they’re more about letting the scraps tell their own story-but this daily sewing practice has been a fantastic way to boost emotional fitness. I also have a set of 7 free patterns designed to help you carve out at least 10 minutes a day for yourself. You can grab them here: www.letscutthescrap.com/opt-in. It’s a great way to start your own journey too! ❤ Exciting news: I’ll be opening my online shop and launching my membership program soon! There, you’ll find all the patterns and resources you need to join in, stay inspired, and keep sewing with intention. Here is the link to join the waitlist: www.letscutthescrap.com/Waitlist I’m putting everything together so it will all come together soon, and your comment truly helps guide me along the way-thank you again! Let me know if you have any more thoughts or questions! ✂✨
@@LetsCutTheScrap You could make a TH-cam short for each of the blocks to share them here on TH-cam 😊🎉
@@RaeInTime Thank you so much for the idea and encouragement! 🎉 The plan is to share everything I’m working on, so your comment is fantastic feedback. Creating this habit is a game changer-it will positively influence every area of your life.
