What a rare treat to hear your voice in this role.

Etienne Dupuis is a wonderful artist, and I’ve seen him onstage a number of times. But Massenet turned this marvel of an aria into a very awkward musical exercise. He just seems to drop a third or an octave everytime the writing gets too high for a baritone. I saw Hampson do this version at the Met and, although he too is an artist of the highest caliber, the rendition was dreadful. Blame Massenet, although he’s one of my favorite composers.

Voz no apta para este repertorio. Not a real baritone.

Can we say that Etienne Dupuis is the "Fischer Dieskau" of the French rep?.. yes he sure was on this day.. And as Fred Astaire said " No no they can't take that away from me" You had a performance recorded in high quality to immortalize your achievement Congratulations on reaching a moment of utter perfection

All the people who are falling over themselves to praise this performance, probably have never heard a great performance. It's so uneven, and just weak, and jumping around doesn't make it better. A nightclub performer, maybe. Or a cruise ship singer. There are great singers around, he's not one of them in this performance.

Second-rate voice, maybe good enough for musical theatre: shallow and unanchored. Relies on a silly staging to sustain one’s interest because he can’t do it as a singer. He should listen to Tito Gobbi’s recording and then give up.👎👎

A me piace È il vero baritono martin francese. Quando canta nella sua lingua è decisamente più efficace. Qui ci vuole una vocalità un più prepotente ma comunque mi piace
