Lose Your Brains / 2018 Specialized Epic S-Works Rebuild, Suspension, Brakes, Drivetrain, Part 2
We assemble the frame hardware with the Fox Float DPS EVOL shock and the new billet yoke that holds it all together. 2025 Fox 32 Step Cast fork with a reverse arch, new grip damper and a titanium crown race goes on to replace the rest of BRAIN suspension technology.
Headset bearings, stem and bar go on with the controls. Next goes the Sram X01 AXS 12 speed wireless drivetrain with a freshly waxed chain.
Hope Race EVO brakes take the helm in place of the crappy Shimano XT M8000 mineral brakes. I do some GOD level unguided brake hose internal routing.
Next Episode will be the brake bleed, wheels and the rest of the tidy bits to ensure this is the bike the customer wanted.

A have the same bike but it's white at only the groupset and wheelset and fork are the stock parts others are replaced that bike is so nice

Did you use or do we need to use Shimano Levers which are made for 2 pistons for those magura 4 piston brakes?
Sorry I didn't see your comment. I used a master cylinder lever from a two piston assembly. You can use any Shimano lever master cylinder available to you. Whether it be from a 2 or 4 piston caliper setup, it will work since most of Shimano's internals are shared among levers. Thank you for commenting.

is the hose meant for shimano or magura?
We use a hose that is dual fluid compatible. Works great for Shimano and Magura brake fluids and brake systems. It has been extensively tested and is proven to work. ---On Edge Components USA

Hi.I'm going to do the same with my brakes.I'm thinking of using Magura Royal blood oil.Magura oil has a higher viscosity and withstands higher temperatures and heating during operation.What do you think?What pin you use on a hose?Magura or Shimano pin?What ID (inside diameter) BH-90 is 2.1mm wide ID,and BH-59 is 2.5mm ID,the BH-59 pins are made of brass usually,and BH-90 out of stainless steel?Obviously for Magura oil it would be better with a bigger one ID pin.
Hello, I use Shimano BH-90 barbs or pins on these setups because that is what the hoses can fit and what is compatible with the master cylinder or lever. It will not have an effect on flow because the holes on the caliper side of the hose have a hole that is about that size or smaller. I have tested all these variables because on I my store I sell purpose built Shigura brake hose kits with all the appropriate fittings and hydraulic hose. I test all my products to ensure optimal performance. Either brake fluid Magura Royal Blood or Shimano Mineral Oil will work without issues.
I have the same type of forks in excellent condition from a bike that has been sitting in the garage for more than 10 years. Do you rebuild? Thanks
