Elora Cataract Trailway

Took the trailway out to the 16 km marker from Elora. This route starts at the trailhead off Gerrie Road in Elora and heads to Fergus. Once in Fergus you have to navigate across town to re-connect with the trail on the east side. Includes Belwood Lake, the Shand Dam and I even passed a snapping turtle (I think). The trail is in excellent shape overall with a bit of loose gravel over the dam.

With a nice shoulder on the road like that, the common sense place for the cyclist to ride would be on that shoulder. Also would be the safest thing to do for all vehicles concerned there. Also would help to avoid friction & hard feelings between motorists and cyclists.
I understand why you crowd the lane, to encourage them to give you more space, I also understand that giving a cyclist space is the law. However laws don't matter if you are dead. If the truck driver approaches a cyclist in a blind corner and can't cross over center because of oncoming traffic, and can't slow in time to avoid the cyclist, it's going to end bad for somebody. Could be the cyclist, could be an innocent family of four in the other vehicle.
when I try to add my line on the trail it won't allow me, it only adds my lines on roads. can you help.
Great video , nice one. I live up the road and did half this trail last summer. Going to do it again soon hopefully i will have a riding partner this time! Be safe
