    I loved your video. I have even written many essays on this subject and had realized that the codependent and the addict have the same core issues. There is the same seed in them that draws them. It's true of the nice person and the narcissist. As a codependent, I had been asking myself, am I also a narcissist. I had come to the conclusion that we were both unhealed, tormented souls who expressed this differently. And because we were both so damaged, we couldn't possibly have a good, healthy relationship. Until the person heals themselves, they cannot have a healthy relationship. And I agree with you that it starts by realizing if you attracted a narcissist, you also have similar issues to deal with and were co-creating an unhealthy relationship. This was well said and explained and I'm glad someone said it! Thank you so much!

    Absolute nonsense. Narcissism is not defined as acting for yourself while being against someone else. You just made that up. Also calling every defence mechanism narcissistic just means that the word loses all value.

    • @onelove5206
      @onelove5206 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The word has lost all of its value when people go around acting like armchair psychiatrists calling everyone narcissistic. This is coming from someone who very likely grew up with a narcissistic mother but understand that it’s just learned behavior. There’s lots of wisdom in what she said. We don’t get anywhere giving up our power by blaming others for our unhappy lives. Focusing on it day in and day night helps no one. Heal yourself, by all means! But that’s all that any of us can do right?

    • @onelove5206
      @onelove5206 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @KatBurke
      @KatBurke 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’re right! I simplified the way we are all screaming about defining it. The actual definition is: excessive interest in or admiration of oneself and one's physical appearance. And yet THAT seems to have been lost in the current toxic narrative 🤦🏼‍♀️

    Another awesome podcast Kat. Totally agree, the BEST things we can ask is where is this in ME? To see it, it must exist in its somewhere. To recognise is to get to clean up. So powerful. Because the power comes from leaning into that darkness, finding where it exists in us, and transforming it into a self aware superpower. Our perceptions become clear, honed, which we then get to project into the world. And the seemingly magical happens. Energy attracts energy. We draw in the levelled up versions of ourselves. . Doing the 'uneasy, the ugly' is the most life changing work we can ever do. It's the best. Find the uneasy at every opportunity, because it's the next step. And the most transformative, for us, for those around us, and for the world where we bring that knowledge. It's certainly transformed, and continues, to transform the self aware reality I both love and live in. 💫 YAY! 💫

    Brotherhood, community, adopting responsibility and accountability are all important. But without changing family law, the incentive structure remains the same. Paternity fraud needs to be made a punishable crime and every birth certificate should be backed by a paternity test. Marriage contracts should come standard with a prenuptial agreement, built-in irrevocable trusts and include an addendum with a bursary account. Also if sexual exclusivity is an agreed upon term of the arrangement, their should be a penalty for breaking that arrangement, up to and including fines or even forfeiture of any potential divorce settlement. Child support should be overhauled entirely and if men cannot be afforded the luxury of choosing whether or not to have the child, then in the case of an unwedded pregnancy they have to be afforded the option to choose to financially and legally abscond. The legal matters are an uncomfortable but necessary topic to change the hellscape that has become of relations between the sexes in the West. America is now #1 in the world in infidelity rate at a whopping 71% and #1 in lowest average length of marriage at a shmeasly 8 years. That’s pathetic people, we gotta get it together for the next generation. Oh and we’re also number 1 in single motherhood / fatherlessness, one of the best predictors for criminality and poor overall outcomes

If men try to be like real masculine men they are accused of being sex offenders, criminals, toxic. This guy in the video is just another TH-cam grifter acting like his a real man. While I can agree with getting out of those negative communities and finding better role models, why bring up women wrongly accusing men of sexual assault? While wrong accusations do happen, it’s so rare it’s not even a point to bring into the conversation. :/

    Women simply need to lower their standards and start being open and loving towards average men again. I expect they won't unless feminism is abolished, because feminism tells them that average men are all evil and dangerous.

    • @KatBurke
      @KatBurke ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s got nothing to do with feminism. Women are evolutionarily hypergamous on a hormonal level. If they do not sense protection it’s really challenging to proceed. For what purpose would you choose to remain average when it doesn’t take much effort to become a great version of yourself… and then you meet women who respect that standard of human.
