Good exprecation

This review primarily focuses on low end scanners. In all cases it requires a cable to plug into the OBD II port. In my opinion there are others that should have been reviewed, and a clearly better option than their #1. As of Dec 17, 2024 5) TOPDON AD500 $166 Amazon: Limited functionality to 4 systems. 4) BossComm IF745 $215 Amazon 3) ZMOON ZM201 $95 Newegg (limited functionality) 2) FOXWELL NT604 $200 Amazon 1) XTOOL D7 $419 Amazon + annual subscription fee after 3 years. Great functionality. If you are going for a higher end scanner like the XTOOL D7 I highly recommend the YOUCANIC for $449, which has a wireless dongle, and includes a video probe. Easy to save files and print, and do lots of other things. It covers cars worldwide and many language. Lifetime software updates (no subscription required). Now there are many scanners above the $450 price point.... but, I did not see any value in pursuing them as a home mechanic taking car of my and my wife's car. A professional shop is going to drop several thousand into a scanner with annual subscription to be able to get certain programming functions. Top end scanners with all the features to fully service and fully program everything are over $5000 each. Most car shops will not go that high - they will contract out advanced programming to someone else with such a scanner.

But you didnt bring up a company like Presision Instruments...... their main thing is literally making torque wrenches..... the best ones on the market as far as click type tools go. Snap On litterally rebrands and sells them because they are so good. If you were to test the torque wrenches..... 4 of the 5 you listed over an entire year they wont hang with Precision Instruments, Snap On, Mac, Matco or Cornwell tools. These tools have a direct corelation between money spent to get quality of tool. Its a dramatic difference and if they can't be re calibrated over time as well. It's just a sign of a lesser torque wrench. That also adds to consistency over the life of the tool. You get what you pay for here. In a professional setting especially. Outta that list, the gear wrench maybe will hang somewhat with the brands I named. Buy a few of them and try them. Daily for a year then buy a known quality torque wrench. Youll understand what im talking about
