@@DroneVisionIT you have to update to 4.6 and select it when flashing the FC, and you might need a working compass for the heading mode

@@DroneVisionIT also my gps rescue actually works every time now and the drone hasn’t fallen out of the sky once, I even had an issue where it would say zero satellites for a second so I tried gps rescue and it worked perfectly and didn’t give up when it lost them

The RSSI dBm:channel in diversity setups is a feature of Betaflight 4.5 ;)

You have to activate the RSSI DBM indicator in the OSD, and when the antenna switches you will see the number 1 or 2 after the rssi value, as you can see in my video ;)

with a DJI O3 VTX I could probably reach 1-2km more, but I have a Caddx Vista and only 1 antenna on the drone. I will try to do other tests to get to 8-9km!

the distance you can travel with a battery depends on many factors: first of all, to do long range you need li-ion batteries and not li-po. in this flight I used a li-ion with a capacity of 4000mah. to find the right speed based on the weight of the drone you have to activate the battery efficiency indicator in the osd, which tells you how many Mah are consumed per km traveled, then during the flight you do some tests to see what is the optimal speed that consumes the least milliamps per km. in my case it is about 70 kilometers per hour.

I only have one ELRS 2.4GHz antenna (14cm) in the back, so when I turn to go back the signal is obstructed. I just purchased an Elrs diversity antenna so in future flights I will have another antenna on the front of the drone.

Non ci ho mai pensato, in effetti potrebbe essere una buona idea! Potresti dirmi il nome esatto del prodotto da comprare? Anche se poi non saprei come montare l'antenna sul fronte del drone dato che non è predisposto... Ora ho l'antenna sul retro elrs 2.4ghz, dici che è abbastanza lunga per portarla davanti sotto la camera?

analog can suffer from interference and signal fluctuations that result in glitches. surely increasing the flight distance the signal loses power and glitches increase. as long as it doesn't become all gray for me they are acceptable :)

Onestamente non ho provato con le antenne stock, ma poi proprio ieri ho usato lo stesso setup di antenne aftermarket e il segnale era pulitissimo (vedi ultimo video che ho messo oggi) 😁

@@DroneVisionIT Da quanto hai scritto le antenne sono diverse tra le 2 prove, magari la coppia di questo video non era ottimale. Ai tempi riuscii a raggiungere 2km con le antenne originali dell'ev800, per questo ti dico che conviene fare un confronto per valutare l'effettiva efficienza di quelle antenne su quel visore . Ricorda che con antenne elicoidali di quel tipo il "cono" di ricezione si restringe molto e basta poco per avere un calo drastico del segnale.

@@nufanfpv con le antenne stock (eachine cloverleaves e stingpad) qualche tempo fa ero arrivato effettivamente a 2.3km ma non oltre perchè perdevo segnale. in effetti con l'elicoidale a volte devo togliermi il visore per essere sicuro di puntare lo sguardo nella direzione giusta al centimetro.. 😅

Yes, I am using the built in transmitter @250mw (you can see it on the upper left corner). I was thinking of adding the external RadioMaster Ranger Nano 2.4GHz ELRS Module which reaches 1W of power, do you think it's a good idea?

The problem is that the omnidirectional antenna receives up to 1-1.5km, after which the signal mainly reaches the directional antenna. so I thought that having 2 directional antennas increased the possibility of having more long range signal even if this requires more precision on where I point the antennas of the headset.
