After all these years I have only just noticed that the frog smoking a pipe next to his son (?), voiced by Windsor Davies is actually reprising his and Don Estelle's roles in It ain't half hot Mum. It even includes Sgt Williams' catchphrase "Shut up" !
Omg I've been searching for this forever. I used to have it on VHS along with a few other things and I loved it so much when I was a kid. I'm 21 now and it still holds so many great memories
What I love is that the lyrics fit into Rupert's life as well as us Rupert Bear fans. Rupert Bear's over 100 years old and faced many enemies such as Billy Blizzard and Sir Humphrey Pumphrey throughout his many adventures. But no matter what, he's always has his friends and family standing with him no matter should they win or lose
This song starts with a live action sequence with Paul McCartney in an attic finding an old Rupert Bear book, blowing dust off it which turns into magical glittery sparks with a sound effect.
I was singing this in college back between 2004 and 2008, some military recruiter actually told me to stop singing it and called the song offensive. I told him, "HOW? It's JUST a song, no harm in sing it, it's harmless." And I just kept singing as he kept telling me it's just un-American or Anti-American. I don't get how 1 song can offend an US soldier. What is such a big deal? It's too beautifil
