How does the EDP, not the elixr, compare to Hermes Pamplemousse Rose? Great video, you've got a great voice for this! Subscribed.

@@jeremygreen2439 hello Jeremy! Thank you very much :) They are incredibly similar. Hmmm if I was to nitpick, to my nose EdPR (the concentrated version) is more pithy and sour grapefruit where VP edp smells juicier. VP also has a peppery nuance from the vetiver missing in the other. It’s weird, for me peppery can give a slight watery sensation. Might be adding to the juiciness? If you’re familiar with Rose & Cuir from Frederic Malle, the rose in that I can find lurking softly in EdPR. Which makes sense because both are Jean Claude Ellena creations. It’s a sunny, airy, light, joyful feeling with this one. VP is a hair more somber from the vetiver. I’ll be honest VP edp I prefer. It’s a truer grapefruit. It’s stunning af and my eyes truly roll back.

@@expansefloating4096 Thank you! You've described them both so gorgeously that I think I'm going to have to get both! Have you ever put a nose to Johann Maria Frina 1709? Perhaps the original EDC, it is the juicest truest orange-citurs fragrance. It's so bright and refreshing and has a sort of rainy background note that is so compelling.

  • @justaddlight

I was curious about this one myself, also being a huge fan of the OG. In fact, it's probably the fragrance I've layered with more than any other. Interestingly, the first couple times I sprayed the edp, I mostly got a soft and pithy mandarin. The grapefruit only arrived about 15 minutes in. Shame the extrait took it in a different direction though. Appreciate the review.

    • @expansefloating4096
      @expansefloating4096 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@justaddlight hello :) Yes it’s incredible for layering! With other citruses, florals, greens, woods, even to sober up fruity scents that are too sweet. I use Molecule 03 (also vetiver based) in a very similar way. Interesting how you get mandarin in the edp! If this is the case you’ll probably register the elixir as more similar to the edp than I do. Although it really is missing that unmistakable grapefruit twang of the original version which makes it so satisfying.

@@mdkOFFICIAL-oe4br hello, to my nose no 19 has a bit more aldehydic sparkle and aroma texture than Silences, which can be perceived by the nose as higher quality. That's so funny, same thing happened to me. Owned Synthetic Jungle, smelled Legacy at the store and found it to be 99% the same. Found a full bottle secondhand for cheap and ended up getting it. Side by side SJ is more unique, watery, fruity and sweet, while Legacy is more white floral, jasmine/hedione and more leafy and refreshing. I actually prefer it most of the time as SJ is just a bit heavy and intense for casual wear. Still love both!

Glad to come across another fan of this dna! Interesting that you find SJ sweet! To me it’s bitter af! Definitely agree with you it’s more aquaeous. Loving your reviews! I finally tried all three of the new bottles and I agree with everything you've said. The lemon and honeysuckle in the new EDP was way more prominent than I ever remember it being before, and yes the new EDT was literally gone from my skin in minutes. Not that the EDT was ever a powerhouse but never was it as faint as this, nor as floral. I guess they're trying to make it more seductive? If so this feels pointless because to me Cristalle was always seductive by not trying in any way to be seductive. That was it's beauty.

I was gonna suggest Molecule 03 after the video then you suddenly brought it up. It’s such a good vetiver for a non-vetiver lover like me and also for being half synthetic. Every Storm a Serenade is also such a good choice!

Isn’t it great? I love the way it smells too. Green, peppery, energizing. A lot of times synthetic smells better honestly. Although when it comes to vetiver naturals, the Vetiverol ex Vetiver Haiti oil is gorgeous. Glad you were able to find a vetiver that works for you; must be hard though because it’s in everything!

Big fan of fresh green rose perfumes. A few that work for me are Young Rose by Byredo, 125th and Bloom by Vilhelm perfumerie and Eau Rose by Diptyque.

Excellent choices! I’ve been thinking of looking into Young Rose again. It has similarity to Izia (not identical at all though). It doesn’t get enough hype, everyone seems to go for Rose of No Mans Land. Didn’t care for it, have you tried? Diptyque is just all around good with Rose. I’ll have to check out 125th and Bloom.

@@expansefloating4096 Def check out 125th and Bloom, to my nose it smells like a fresh green rose with smoky tobacco notes. I have Rose of No Mans Land too but I think it vibes more in the cooler months for me. How do you feel about Rose Atlantic by DS and Durga?

I always think I ramble too much too. But you know what-you’re finding your people who like to listen to the ramble. So speak to them. Yes peach does give an uplifting something something to a fragrance, which is weird for me to say because I’ve never been a big fan of mitsouko because the peach there is oppressive. I haven’t watched your videos to know your lane yet but I think pomares stolen perfume does a great peach. She’s an all natural house and actually distills the peaches- how about them apples? Or peaches. Haha. Beaulah is the perfume I’m thinking of. Sometimes her perfume scan be hit and miss with the ‘natural weird smell’, but beaulah is all peach sandlewood prettiness.

Sorry for the late reply! Thank you Kelly I appreciate it :) I have wondered what kind of materials they are using for the old fashion peach notes because like you, they aren’t appealing to me. Or at the very least they get lost in the composition to my nose. Thank you so much for the recommendation I will look into that house and Beulah specifically. I also came across a nice peach very recently in Gardenia by Elizabeth Taylor.

I bought mine today. I like it. I will wear it on a hike. It is green, slightly floral, dry ( very), melony and peppery. Yes the bottle is silly. I will persevere with it because like the oddness. I think it might be good in the cold. I think ti smells contemporary and if it was made by Amouge we would all be clamering for it.

I’m glad you like it :) yes it’s an odd one. That combo of melon milk, floral green and pepper is just.. nothing you really come across. I feel like people who like doll head perfumes would enjoy Eden bc of the shared plasticy undercurrent. You know it does have something cooling about it (vs warm) so I can see how it would shine in cold weather too.

Finally got to test these last year. Though I really like them, the amount of aldehydes in some kinda made me think of them any other line forcing the signature into every scent. Also, I can’t believe that these were $200 for a 75ml in 2020 and are now at $325. Ugh!

You know that is true, I believe Ouch110 said the same thing. That Chanel dna. I especially noticed it in beige, 1957, 1932, misia to an extent.. but I won’t complain because I like aldehydes :3 some of them had that soapy aldehydic quality as well like 1922 and Bois des Iles. Oh my god don’t even get me started on their prices!!! It disgusts me to my core. Shame on you Chanel.
