Honestly, NJ is never a group which I supported due to 1) them being all minors when debut and 2) most importantly MHJ. This woman just gives me the yuck. Imagine publicly and unconditionally supporting the person who has humiliated and bullied multiple groups under the same company NewJeans works under, and then expecting those same groups to be nice and caring towards you. Their desire to be respected isn't invalid, it is human. Just like any negative reactions that groups and managers of groups such as ILLIT, LSF or others may have towards NJ aren't invalid. It may not be the most professional thing, but hey, neither was that entire video they put on TH-cam, which absolutely disregarded the harm MHJ has caused to young idols, some of whom were kids - just as the members of NewJeans. The members of NewJeans are victims of the exploitative adults around them, and I am not trying to frame them as the villains in this entire fiasco. What I am saying is that people, especially bunnies, need to apply SOME common sense to the entire situation (ik it's hard but try to do that at least for a moment). Why are you surprised that there is some tension directed against you when you have time and again expressed your support for a person who is actively causing harm to the safety and mental health of idols not that much older than you? I am not frustrated at NJ, I am frustrated at Kpop spaces screeching mistreatment over something that is not that out of the ordinary. The members of NJ have clearly not been given access to the full picture, and evidently they haven't conducted any research online on their own about the drama either. The groups that have been maligned in the process of MHJ's quest to portray herself as genius and a victim also had equally young and vulnerable members who have been preyed upon by MHJ, a woman that NJ CHOSE to side with. Actions have consequences. It is reasonable that you aren't exactly the favorite people of these managers and their groups. What NJ did was respectable, but not wise. Not professional. But I do hope more idols speak freely of their issues with their employers. I wish that the industry as well as its consumers learn something from this - do not debut minors. If a company does debut minors, we should not support their work, no matter how good the music may be. Let those minors re-debut as adults and you can support them all you want then, but not before. It is THIS easy to groom them and not supporting groups comprised entirely of minors could possibly allow companies to look at it as something that could cause undesirable monetary loss, thus discouraging them from putting minors in such a hopeless position. You wanna get angry about minors and their exploitation in KPOP? Then don't fucking consume their work and show time and time again that debuting minors will only make these companies money. That live now means they are in breach of their contract so they are in trouble HYBE could remove them but after all the money they've wasted on them I think they might make them work off some of that debt they owe HYBE.
