The cleanest set up I’ve seen thus far!
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback and the compliment.
So I’m actually about to add a motor on my Teton and I was wondering how did you feed the cord through the two drilled wholes for the foot pedals?
@@bullybreed86 I removed the flush mount rod holders drilled the holes on the stern and by the foot pedals. I use a wire clothes hanger and stuck it through the holes on the stern all the way to the flush mount rod holder hole then tied some string to the clothes hanger and pulled it through. Then from by the foot pedals I did the same thing then tied the springs together at the flush mount rod holder then attached the nylon cord to the string on the stern and pulled it all the way to the pedals.
Thanks man I really appreciate it.
@bullybreed86 you’re welcome!! If you ever have any other questions just ask.
Great video but one question. How do you transport this to the lake? Does it fit on the back of a pick up truck? or do you have to buy a trailer for it?
Thank you!! You can haul it in a pick up truck but you will either need a bed extender or I’ve used a couple 12’ 2x4 it is a very long kayak so you would also need a flag to tie on the end. A trailer is by far the best way to go for it.
1/2" ID or OD steel pipe?
1/2” OD and you can use anything you have just keep the wires protected and help protect the friction of that shaft while cutting.
How did you run the nylon cable from hole to hole? I drilled mine out but my cable just coils inside the kayak.
Remove the flush mount rod holders. Drill the holes by the pedals and at the rear of the kayak. I took a wire clothes hanger straightened it out I stuck it from the rear hole to the flush mount holder hole attached some string and pulled to there then took the clothes hanger from the hole by the pedals and stuck it through to the rod holder pulled string through then tied the string together and from the hole by the pedal I attached the nylon cable to the string and pulled it all the way to the rear. It just takes some patience but it’s very simple.
What if my old motor has two black wires from the motor wires?
Is it just 2 big black wires? or one big black one and one small black wire with a big red one?
By far the best video. I’ve watched a hundred different videos for this subject. Great job and thank you Sir
Thank you, I appreciate the wonderful feedback.
Awesome video thanks
Thank you, I appreciate you watching.
Great review. Very informative. Thanks!
Thank you, I really appreciate you watching.
How did you ger the bike clamp on? Did you have to take the head unit off?
Yes my head unit was off when I put the clamp on.
Wow I bet you could just go up river for hours as long as your batteries will let you I suppose! I also subbed because that was a damn good video ! It takes a lot of patience and work to set up a kayak like that.
Yea it does make a lot of difference having it setup this way. It’s not all that hard to get it setup just takes sometime and yes a little patience. I appreciate you watching and sending your feedback. Thanks
This is an excellent video. Thanks. I made a video on choosing a deep cycle marine battery for a trolling motor, and I noticed that you have a starter marine battery for this. Do you normally use that for your trolling motor, or were you just using that for this video?
Thank you. I was only using that for the purpose of this video. I use a 50ah ZPRO lithium battery for my trolling motor battery.
@@334tacticaloutdoors I figured. When I originally bought my trolling motor, I just added it to my Mercury starter battery--learned not to do that and felt like a dope.
@@JasonSipe16 yea you definitely can’t add it to a starting battery. We all have had our learning curves for sure.
I finally finished my complete wireless trolling motor video with pwm like yours. Hope you'll check it out (it's pretty long)!
@@JasonSipe16 I’ll definitely go check it out. That’s awesome you got it completed.
Cool kayak!
Thank you!! It definitely is.
Why would you describe two PWMs that are still in the packages?
I didn’t describe them I only said the amps. The one that I hooked up was the 60amp the 100amp has a built in fan. When u buy a PWM you buy it by the amps not by what it looks like.
Ok mine isn't labeled the same as yours. It just says "B+ M M B-". In that order. I'm assuming that is battery plus, motor plus, motor negative, battery negative.
Yes that’s correct
@@334tacticaloutdoors Thank you. I appreciate your videos.
@sjkeener you’re welcome. I appreciate the support.
Great video, thank you
You’re welcome. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
while we can!
I believe we all do.
Do you have to register the boat? I just bought one and am curious
In most states yes you have to register your kayak once you add a trolling motor. Just check your state laws.
@@334tacticaloutdoors thank you didn’t think you would reply
@Buklau20 you’re welcome. I reply to all my comments. I post videos to help people and answer the questions.
Just curious, how would you connect a kill switch to that PWM?
You would just wire the kill switch in with the PWM power and negative on the forward and reverse switch.
Is there a rudder kit for that rig?
You can add a aftermarket rudder kit to it.
Fmor gods sake byy a gopro already!!!
I have 4 GoPros. You don’t have to watch my videos if you don’t like them.
Are they brushless? Can’t mix the motor and pwm if they’re not compatible
That’s just an old trolling motor I’ve had for years. You can put any PWM on a trolling motor.
Do you put a fuse in-between motor and pwm....or between battery and pwm
Between the battery and PWM
What gauge wire u use ??
I use 8awg wire
Pickwick
lol yea
@@334tacticaloutdoors best lake here
You might want to make another video about how to make the cables. Everytime I make my own cables, they always fail within a day.
How are you making your cables?
@@334tacticaloutdoors I use tinned cables of about 10 gauge and I use the heat shrink ring connector terminals. Every time it overheats, or maybe copper is touching metal or something but I can't figure it out.
@kennys3985 try using 8awg cable cause it sounds like the 10awg cable is heating up that’s causing your problem.
So would I be good just getting a 1 inch poly granite board
You can just make sure it’s over 1/2” due to getting it high enough for the quick release handle to slide out.
@@334tacticaloutdoors awesome would that be 2 pieces of 1/2” board stacked on top or just a single 1” board though
It takes 1/2” just to get to the top yes just one 1/2” peice should be good you just gotta be careful some HDPE says 1/2” but comes nearly 7/16”.
You are a life saver
Thanks, glad I could help you out.
Yep he's dead
Absolutely 😂
Yeah he is now!!😂🤣😂👍🏻🎣🎣
Definitely is 😂
Can I keep the body for catfish bait...?😂
Absolutely. Up to you to find it though. 😂
@@334tacticaloutdoors 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
it’s probably the biggest reason I fish.
It’s definitely enjoyable.
Please! I had to bail on this one. Too much talking about what you were going to do and other videos. You repeated the words "motor positive and motor negstive" around 6 times in the short time I watched. You ever, however told us what the yellow and white wires are for, even though they are t needed for your installation, others may be interested. Why does it take 17 minutes to e plain where to attach 6 wires? Sorry to be so brutal. Looks like you have a decent following. Good luck.
I have the absolute easiest to follow instructions on how to hook up a PWM. I’m sorry it doesn’t fit the way you wanna hear it.
Amen.!!.
Yes sir.
That’s the beauty of it. Sitting back and gazing at Gods work.
Yes it is.
I’m from Ozark ! If that’s what 334 means on your name
Yes the 334 is cause I live here in Salem, Al. Only a few catch that.
Thanks for this video and the very clear instructions. I love your deploy setup - especially how clean and tight the cable is so that it’s never in the way of your feet. I’ve tried to do this several different ways on top of the deck and it’s never not in the way. How did you get it to be the perfect length to make the handle always stay tight against the kayak?
Thank you. Tie the cord to the handle first pull it to the trolling motor and where it ties on to the carabiner just make it about a 1/2” shorter than what you want it to be before u tie it on.
The sounds are what get me…especially away from humanity…I’d listen more when I’m out but I’d fall asleep lol
Yes I agree.
Supposed to say "CAN you make sure hes dead?"
Oh no he was dead
thanks....just gave me some ideas
You’re welcome, thanks for watching.
lol u know growing up I fished like everyday after school weekends rain snow didn’t matter we went I hated it now I’m older and realize fishing is the most enjoyable peaceful thing ever
Yes I know that feeling i definitely enjoy fishing more as an adult than I ever did as a kid.
For the 2x2 square beam you attached, how long would be? Im in the same situation where my seat would hit the top rack.
48” total that’s 12” for each post.
When we are at the lake my mom will be like look at this flower and I say yep but look at this fish
It’s hard to stop fishing.
Hello, I mistakenly purchased the 54" Xi3 for my boat. I can't return it. I would like to be able to use it on my outlaw. Will it be possible with the space up front?
You can cut the shaft down on the xi3. th-cam.com/video/SrE9BTEg5PM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pxn_Oh9QB_QX1-0Y
Did you add an inline fuse
Yes when u do your install run a online fuse between the battery and the PWM and I also ran one between the PWM and the trolling motor.
Great job!
Thank you.
Well said
Thank you.
No wonder the usa has a problem with mass killings with kids crazy
The USA has problems with mental illness. Teaching your kids gun safety, and how to handle firearms is important not only for there protection, but the protection of others.
@@334tacticaloutdoors alls i can say that you can not be right in the head praising your daughtef for knowing how to shoot and as for protection who fires first wins
@paulgamble5654 I will always praise my Daughter for know how to defend herself or others. I had much rather her know how than have to depend on anyone else. And you’re wrong it’s not who fires first, it’s who knows how to hit where they fire.
Are you planning on adding the slides to the Sea-lects later?
Im not sure what slides you’re referring to? this is a complete track and pedal kit.
“How many stickers do you want?” “YES”
lol!! You can never have enough
Great review...great balance also
Thank you. I appreciate you watching.
How long did you leave your shaft
36” long
@@334tacticaloutdoors so you never cut yours down for the teton?
@ArpOutdoors when I cut the head off the trolling motor I cut it to a 30” shaft so yes my apologies I did take 6” off of it. It’s the minnkota 30lb thrust 36” shaft.
@@334tacticaloutdoors thanks I’m trying to follow your build fairly closely I will post to the teton group when I’m done. Names Skyler arp I post in there every once in a while. Thanks for all the info the mount is very strong I don’t think I’ll have any issue and if I did , simple fix would be to install a hatch in the back and add some wood in the inside for the lags to secure too. But I don’t see that happening
@ArpOutdoors absolutely keep us updated, if you have any more questions just let me know.
