johnny dancing with the red nun SF Bay
มุมมอง 21Kปีที่แล้ว
Three time kiting world champion, Johnny Heineken, dancing with the red nun buoy on SF Bay during some significant swell and fresh breeze. The style and grace of Johnny on a wing foil is awesome to behold, despite San Francisco Bay being one of the most challenging places to sail in the world. Few people know the bay as well as he does. When people see his amazing fluidity, in often violent sea...

    Watching Johnny is half the reason I bought my wing foiling gear. I wouldn't have beileved riding like that was possible if I hand't seen him. Thanks for capturing and sharing this video!!

    Great job filming Johnny's session at Fort Point. Tearing the wing didn't slow him down one bit.

    WOW! What a great act, but dangerous, Guys. How do you do that blindfolded? Emmett certainly took advantage of the water dousing and getting Bryan all wet, an opportunity not to be missed. Great cause. Congratulations!

    Hacko HackoB the program I used to create the vector diagrams was flash. Sports physiologists have specialized programs to automate this process. I did not have this luxury and basically brute forced it by hand following the principle joints in the body in a frame by frame video playback...ya, it took a lot of time but was worth it :)

    I do not think that you should be calling this guy an asshole, obviously he beliefs that Los Gatos should have lost the race, it is true that the Newport coxswain had steering issues but little known is that they were told by the on water official that they had been disqualified in the last 250m on top of that they were told that they could not protest on the water. Yes he could have celebrated and not have stood up like he is jesus, thats just bad sportsmanship.

    Being bigger and stronger doesn't guarantee being faster. There's also the drive to win and the heart to overcome adversity - surely you understand that. As somebody who always wanted to be seatraced, I agree with what you're saying. But knowing the dudes in this year's lightweight boat I don't doubt that that lineup was LG's fastest 8. And knowing the ethos surrounding our club and exactly how much work is put in, I can certainly tell you that Los Gatos doesn't try to exploit loopholes to win.

  • @crewbroski121
    @crewbroski121 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    No offense to our heavies, but most of them suck dick at rowing on the water and that's why they go slow. Of the heavies that are actually fast none of them synergized with the rest of us in the v8 lineup so the boat went slower with them. Our lightweight is our fastest lineup just look at the results. As for last year the 3v guys just wanted it a lot more than our jv boat did. The attitude was completely different and some of the jv guys while being fast just didnt want it.

  • @BluePlaidProductions
    @BluePlaidProductions 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Stop making assumptions with no factual premise. You know nothing of the speed of our rowers. Had we rowed a V8 with our 8 fastest guys, it would include 6 people from the Ltwt8, and 2 from the JV8 (this was the lineup the last time we rowed the V8, at the Shamrock Invite). So it's without a doubt that our Ltwt8 is our fastest varsity boat. And last year's 3V had a 1:47 average 2K while the JV had a 1:42 average 2K, so again it's without a doubt we were the region's fastest THIRD varsity 8.

  • @djmoll24
    @djmoll24 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    So you're still contending that the Los Gatos 3v wasn't the third eight? Let me tell you a bit about that boat. He wasn't exaggerating when he said the crew average was ~140. Quite possibly smallest eight in the region. One guy in the boat - ONE GUY - was sub 7. The rest were just wanted it bad enough to kill themselves on every piece, and tear the higher boats to shreds. Our coach tried to seat race them many times, but no one in that boat beat any of the JV guys one on one.

  • @trevord2016
    @trevord2016 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It had big guys, not the fastest guys. They may have pulled hard, but they rowed badly and didn't show a winning attitude at practice. The lightweights won every piece at practice to the supposed Varsity 8 that raced in the JV. You can't make accusations based on what you believe to be true on race day. Bad races happen, injuries happen, you have no idea what was going on in any of the boats, so you have no ground for your claims.
