Mel Brooks is best when not constrained to parodying another work. Nearly all the funniest jokes in this movie are ones that have nothing to do with lampooning Hitchcock, like this one. Except the shower scene LOL. That’s hilarious.

I love that the camera sheepishly pulls away after breaking the glass as if to say, "My bad".

I was in the 8th grade when I saw this hilarous High Anxiety. The scene alone shows the comedic genius Mel Brooks. I laughed so hard that I nearly choked on the popcorn I was munching on! 😂😂

When I saw this in the movie theatre, I laughed like a lunatic. People turned to look at me. Then I realized I was the only one that got the joke. At that point I should’ve left on the next train out of town. Besides, the door was locked, my hands were tied and the walls were padded.
