@chicsss Porcupine quills are not poisonous. The primary danger they pose is physical, rather than toxic.

It's not the hyenas, the lion is the one attacking. That lion is not even scared, tail raised, head raised he is mad.

@@Inspirationalz_4u By watching lot of documentaries and videos. Hyenas never dare to attack black maned lions. They avoid these lions. In this video the reason because they hyenas attacking is to stop the lion from attacking that hyena. Just to distract him. They do this to save one of them. If that lion retrieve from there they all stop biting him. But this lion is in angry mode he is not liking their presence. That's why he still continuing the attack. From the body language we can see that he is clearly dominating the scene.

It is almost certain that they would not have dared to attack Olobor if he had not attacked them first. After killing one of them and wounding others, he followed his march as if nothing had happened.

@@Inspirationalz_4u That's how it is. There are not many lions like Olobor. He may have been a little crazy, but he was born for battle. He was harassed by hyenas on other occasions, even as a subadult, he was attacked by Enkuroto and Spikie and survived, he came to the rescue of Oloshipa in his fight with Olope (whom they killed), he was still young but already had several disputes with the neighboring males (Salas, Fig Tree...). He preferred the life of continuous challenges rather than the quiet and calm coexistence with the pride. He had the true heart of a lion.

@@Inspirationalz_4u He was only 6 years old (September, 2017). The herders probably deprived us of a true legend, of a lion that only comes out once in several generations.
@@Inspirationalz_4u He had a physical trait that differentiated him from everyone else. He had more hair on the back of his forearms than any other lion. Oloshipa (I think they were twins) also had a lot, but not as much as him.

Olobor? I'm not 100% sure. Recently killed? No, he was not killed. It was only rumored and has since been refuted by Kenya Wildlife Services.
