Thomas is an Irish traveller living ,at the moment, in London. His family are from County Offaly which is one of the four counties making up the Midlands region of Ireland and is incidently the location of the earliest evidence of human settlement in Ireland. Check out his CD 'Round Top Wagon'.

I remember being at this gig, it was brilliant. 😊
A very memorable evening so glad you enjoyed the video despite it's quality. If you are interested Tony Hall will be playing Norwich Folk Club on the 6th of December (2024) A great chance to see one amazing, highly entertaining melodeon player.. There's a link to a great bio of Tonys on the Norwich Folk Club website. along with details of the up coming concert : )
Nice singing btw
Cheers, appreciate the comment : )
12 years later lol, youre welcome :)
@@Karsthepillarman Yup, still alive and singing........... You going to have a go at Dick Derby and post it?
@@melodoubt lol i live far
Not me searching for a song with the melody and finding this💀
Loving these Mel…… Great playing and singing. Leon
My first husband. The most talented person and natural. Miss hearing him now he has passed away. God bless him. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Such an inspiration and timeless talent. You can't possibly fake that type of soul for music. Kernow bys vyken ❤
Another great Dougie MacLean song!
Love all three of them so much .
a great band. where are they?
Chris Green is half of the duo Greemathews with Sophie Matthews. Emily Sanders is I believe still working with Chris Sherburn and Denny Bartley ( I supported them at the Milkmaid Folk Club before the pestilence struck) Jude Rees is so busy on the Early Music scene it's difficult to keep up with her goings on !
Why is this video upside down?
lock thy sceen and flip it...
This is upside down….
upside down is the new right way up ... lock you sceen and flip..
Why is it upside down on my phone
lock ya screen and flip it...
That was in my best friends pub in Moira xx
Nice one.
Cheers Glyn )
@@melodoubt You're most welcome.
I saw Nic perform penguin eggs just before his accident in the early 80's. i have a signed copy of the album. Saw him and Joe at the Y theatre a couple of years ago. Absolutely brilliant.
Nic Jones with Tony Hall. Can't think of much better really. So grateful you posted, despite quality.
So glad you liked ! We are so spoilt these days... my hand held £4.00 phone camera = 78 rpm shellac disc of yore? .. hopefully the capture will be a treasure one day....
this was such a great show. I adored it totally. I had to go to work early the next morning and I had to get the last train back, so I missed the end of it, but it was worth the effort.
Only just realised - after getting on 10 years I was singing 'hills' not 'caves'. I'll blame the bevy....
Superb,Come down to Leicester Jim mate.....Soon :)
Always been one of my favorite singers. His son Joe has his dad's guitar style down perfectly and he's left-handed, like I am!
Brings back memories of Brentwood Folk Club
Brilliant
is there a studio version of this ?
Good one Mel ! (John T)
What a great song, tune, playing. Barrack Street is the song.
thanks ,good to see you at botton, lovely vid
Glad you enjoyed it, what a magical night it was. Tony joining him for this one was the icing on the cake. Botton - great to see you there I think we managed to swop capos I only had one with the pip missing now I have two : )
Hiya Richard What you up to these days?
@@melodoubt i am working on material for anew cd and still gigging in uk, thanks for asking
Thanks for uploading. Love it.
Sensational
Wonderful stuff, I am looking for Pete Isaacs, a West Suffolk folk singer, he was once on TH-cam, " but he has gone. He once was a popular street busker in East Anglia. I am looking for him.
I never heard this 'un til now...I love the theme ...takes me back in my mind to days of glory now sadly missed!! Good on ya Mel
Hi Susan, I am tuned Dd A D capo'd first fret. Have fun with it !! : )
This is exactly what I've been looking for!! What tuning did you use for Bring Us In Good Ale? And are you capo'd up?
Thank you
I missed most of the stepping last year so I made sure to catch some this time ! But like you say it's difficult to fit everything in . What a great day out it is - may the sun shine again next year !
: )
Hi Ted, Glad you found the picture ! I have put a dropbox link to the hi-res image for you in the video description.. (links not allowed in comments) let me know if you get it ok. Cheers Mel : )
11:04, that man is my Grandad, I was playing alongside him. I have taken a printscreen of the photo as it just about embodies him more than any other I have ever seen, thanks Ted.
Totally agree David .. Thanks for the comment. I've found a few more Videos of Jim which I will 'up' over the next couple of days. Some magic stuff that I'm sure you will enjoy : )
By far the best acoustic blues player we have.
Hey Richard, Good to hear from you, thanks for the comment. Think it's 'bout time you came along and gave us a verse or two of your Thousands or More !
very nicely done..lovely rendition. I sung this myself, lo these many years long gone.Forgotten how good it can be.
Very well done you two! absolute legendary stuff...sang my head off throughout!!
Jim is one rocket fuelled performer !! thank you James for taking the time to comment, so glad you liked .. makes the uploading worthwhile.... : )
ta : )
I'll have to rearrange it with some joining in bits ! ; )
Thanks Allan, this was written by Jimmy MacCarthy and popularised by Christie Moore. Looking forward to hearing your C 'n D song! I'll check to see if my guitar has an Eb. Not sure if it came with one, I'll have to look in the manual : )
Yet another wonderful song from Reg - just beautiful !
The Wanderer!!! Love it!!
@Heikover Yes, it is indeed great song ! so glad you enjoyed this upload. It is really heartening when someone takes the time to show their appreciation . Thank you sincerly for making a comment .... : )
