Dear good sir, did you have to mod your bios to boot from the msata. Mine seems to be whitelisted
Did you figure this out? I have a M.2 NVME, and i used an adapter to install it where the HDD was, but could not get it to be recognized by windows installer or in the bios.
@@klubstompers that won't work because the laptop has no nvme slot. They are all SATA interfaces and won't be able to communicate with NVME drives. The slot shown in video is actually m.2 NGFF SATA key B-M 2242 You can get a drive with this interface.
how about Dogfish Msata SSD 2TB, is it compatible for Lenovo y400 ? (Note: it's 2TB, I found it on amazon)

I don't have a good review about samsung ssd. Currently, I have it on my Y700 and not impressed with it at all! Go with Crucial.
I have some question . first i have replaced my hhd to ssd(sata) and migrated my os to SSD,can i add a msata SSD to my Lenovo Y400 as a storage drive?if i can do so ,which brand Msata SSD would be the best?
Yes. I mean, I can share my experience. Here is what I did: I bought a Crucial (I highly recommend) mSata for Lenovo Y400; I didn't touch my 1tb hdd that came with Y400; used the proper slot to put mSata; installed OS and other programs on mSata as you usually install it on any hdd; used 1tb hdd for my personal data. Hope it helps!

I have some questions. first: do you know what is the size for the mSata? I'm not sure if it's two inches. second: can you install windows on the mSata and use the other disk as simply storage? third: is the storage disk size 2,5 inches? cause I need to replace that one too. thank you.
