I took a 38-hour overnight sleeper train trip from Hanoi to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) in Vietnam.
It's a crazy trip, taking 38 hours to get there when a plane would take 2 hours for the same price! But, let me tell you, it was a lot of FUN!

★WHAT WAS THE TRIP LIKE?★
・The meals on the train were very good. This is because the food is freshly prepared in the dining car at the front of the train. I thought I had to eat only instant noodles, so that was a surprise!　
・I have one complaint, they didn't sell cold beer.
・My two complaints are that they don't sell cold beer. Yet the room air conditioning is too cold.
・I received sweets and fruits from Vietnamese who shared the same room with me. Everyone was so kind to me as a solo traveler that I almost cried!🥹

📚About Train Reservation
All you need to make a reservation is an email, a phone number and a credit or debit card.
You may get an error in the phone number field. This is because Vietnamese phone numbers are 10 digits.　So if your phone number has 11 digits, try removing the last one and filling it in with 10 digits. I did it that way. Then I was able to proceed without error!　Be sure to write down your phone number, email address, and the booking code that was emailed to you, as you will need them to download the QR code later!
I was able to make a reservation a week in advance using a debit card from Japan, selecting the vehicle and bed of my choice. I hope you too can make a reservation without any errors!
