This album explores a darker sound than we're used to with Chappell Roan. With an anthemic atmosphere, dark subject matters, and dare I say...some slurred vocals...this EP is definitely not what I was expecting. I love Chappell's vocal abilities, but the affectation in her singing voice from this era isn't doing it for me. Overall I still really enjoyed this project. The evolution she has gone through as an artist and as a person since releasing the School Nights EP is insane!
