Great series on surprising the world! I have a suggestion for another series you could do in the future: try a series about the end times or about hell. Part of the Gospel that I don't hear often is what we are saved from. We hear very frequently that Jesus saved us and died for the world on the cross, but what did he save us from? He saved us from eternal hell, or separation from God. Also, the end times would be good to talk about because we never know when it could start. We could already be there and not even know it yet, but we need to know about the antichrist and what he will do so that the people of God are prepared. These are just suggestions but keep in mind that Jesus talked more about Hell and the End Times than any preacher, priest, prophet, or anyone else, so it is something important to talk about. Thanks and God bless 🙏

I stumbled upon this seon because of the hymn stories you have and some how that title caught my attention and got me to thinking about that title. I often use writing as my means if thinking.

I found this very much filled with God's truth and I appreciate the way you are making it easy to read the Bible together. That should definitely help your congregation to pull together, but I was sad to see that their are so few that have seen this. I enjoyed your message very much. Asking is Jesus my why is very much akin to Asking what would Jesus do? I took a screen shot of your list of weekly verses.

I wrote this before hearing the sermon, but the title inspired it. I pray this will be used for God's glory. Jesus is my why. Jesus is why I love Him so. What is your why? Jesus is my why. Jesus is why I have joy in sorrow. Where is your joy? What is your why? Jesus is my why Jesus is why I have peace In all of life's storms Peace be still Jesus is my why I won't give up on anybody, though they have given up on themselves. Jesus is my why. Jesus is why I won't give up the good fight of faith; He is worth the fight. Jesus is my why. Jesus is why I forgive as I have been forgiven. What is your why? Jesus is my why. Jesus is why I will love as I have been loved. What is your why? Jesus is my why. Jesus I why I will live as one who has been forgiven. What is your why? Jesus is my why. Jesus I why I will live as one who is loved unconditionally. Jesus is my why. What is your why? What is your why? What is your why? We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19 KJV But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 KJV Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 KJV Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10 KJV My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:2‭-‬8 KJV There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV

I mention in this episode something called the Wesleyan Quadrilateral. Some, if not most of you, probably have not heard this term before and were a bit confused as to what it meant. From what I know and have know learned, this viewpoint takes ideas that were in the church (I believe the Anglican church to be specific) and combined it with the teachings of Wesley to illiterate what we believe to be 4 sources for theological coherence. They are a way of determining what is theologically correct by taking Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and also Experience and determining coherence from them. When we study the Scriptures we can confidently say what is truth based on what is said, what church history says, what we have witnessed and experienced, and common sense and reasoning. Nazarene Essentials from Holiness Today puts it like this: "These are our sources for theological coherence. -Scripture: We believe the holy scriptures are foundational and vital in forming our identity in Christ. -Christian Tradition: We celebrate the orthodox teachings of 2,000 years of history through various Christian traditions. -Reason: We believe the Spirit of God works through out intellects and gives us discerning minds -Personal Experience: We believe God works in and through the lives of individuals and communities who follow Christ." Whenever I reference this Quadrilateral, I am using it as a guide or tool to help us understand God's truth. By knowing that we can rely on Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience to learn and grow. I don't necessarily want it to come off that these are distinct ways of determining what we believe. I believe these are 4 sources, that when brought and used together and help us better understand the message God is telling us. Thanks for reading!! Never be afraid to question what is said, voice your understandings of anything. This is a learning environment and an open discussion for all. Let's continue to grow and learn together!!
