Ok after listening through, I disagree you can't do well with a vlog type channel. I have watched a bunch of them explode that are homesteading related or whatever. And I think it doesn't matter what your level of expertise is if you approach it in a way that invites your audience to offer advise and feedback. Just make sure you have thick skin. Ha ha. But I say go for it. What I think matters most is regular content, people like speed with the content offered. So the subject matter needs to be concise and keep it moving. One idea you guys might want to try that the kids might enjoy and will give you a ton of benefits is vermiculture. It used to be super popular but has waned some. Tons of videos out there though. Cooking, gardening, the sheep, composting, and showing results of what works and what doesn't I think is great.
