I was with you until the middle and end where you deviated from some very very relevant parts/themes.
They already mapped out a 10 year plan for the DCU hopefully its something new and fresh I don’t want it to be a copy cat of anything unless it’s from the source or old cartoons like JLU or JL animated series.
Im way more excited for James Gunn dcu than I ever was for synder
Denis and the screenwriters have already fucked up part 3, it's not going to resemble the book at all. People who are fans of the book need to be honest with themselves. The reason I say this is because they've made it impossible for Chani to come back and have kids with Paul. Defenders of the movie say "Because they had sex in part 2!" If that's true, then there's going to be no Anya Taylor Joy because the entire movie will have to take place within 9 months, which will mean the Jihad will take place within 9 months, making it the most rushed piece of shit plot line, even worse and rushed than part 2... Unless ofcourse they completely change the way *(((((((((SPOILER ALERT YOU'VE BEEN WARNED IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOKS)))* Chani d!3s..... but if that happens it removes the entire plot line for Scytale and Bijaz at the end when they try and tempt Paul to create a Ghola Chani! There is absolutely no way this movie can win because it's derailed completely off the tracks since the ending of part 2, ofcourse, people who've never read the books will have a great time and I'm happy for them (ignorance is bliss), but for rest of us I think It'll make us appreciate David Lynch's adaption and Sci-fi miniseries even more, as flawed as those ones are.
I completely agree and that was the point I was trying to get across, not sure how well I did it to be honest. But you're right, the timelines regarding Alia and Paul and Chani's kids wouldn't line up and this would not in fact be a 1:1 adaptation.
@@TheNiceGuyWoodruff You did well lol sorry I think spastic people like me are just using whatever related videos they can to vent our frustration. But it was good video. Keep it up man
Dude, Batman killed/SHOT a shitload of people in his first year. He hung a Frankenstein monster dragging him from a helicopter saying “he’s better off this way”. Another time took a machine gun and opened up on a truck full of guys. Not just the first year but years after. People saying he doesn’t use guns clearly don’t know the history. I really hope these new movies work but I’m not gonna hold my breath and be disappointed again. Hopefully Gunn won’t borrow too much from past movies and comics and can be original.
don't you think it makes him a far more compelling character if he doesn't use guns though? he already has the best tech, the best preparation, i feel like him not using guns/not killing is in itself a unique character trait for a superhero
That was all in 1939 and the no kill rule was established in 1940 and has been that way since lol.
The first 50 seconds is so real
I don't think the conclusion of the DCU will or should follow the story of Starcrossed. For one, as much as I love DCAU's version of Hawkgirl and think she is a great adaptation of the character, I do prefer Kendra being the main Hawkgirl and think that Shiera should be a bit more like her original comics counterpart. I'd take the personality and abilities of DCAU's Hawkgirl and give those to Shiera but I'd remove the idea of her being a Thanagarian. Instead, she and Carter would be the reincarnations of Thanagarians that crashed on Earth in ancient Egypt with their weapons and armor being made of Nth Metal, the Thanagarian metal. They would be reincarnated in the 1900s and eventually fall in love before discovering their past lives and the Nth metal, deciding to embrace their past lives and become heroes, later getting married and becoming founding members of the JSA in the 40s before either being reincarnated in the 2010s or some how being sent to the future where they would briefly join the Justice League before retiring and passing the Hawkgirl mantle down to Kendra. I think this would be the best version of Shiera which would respect her comic history and her character in the DCAU while still not straight up copying the DCAU. Another problem is have is with the Thanagarians. I've never been a huge fan of the Thanagarians as a race, them and their planet has never really been too interesting to me. It's just another scientifically advanced alien civilization without much else interesting about them besides it being the home planet of some versions of Hawkman and Hawkgirl, the Nth metal found on that planet, and the Rann-Thanagar War. It might be more interesting to just have the Thanagarians be a dead race for thousands of years, it would certainly make their Nth metal more rare instead of there being a planet filled with that technology. Perhaps tie it in to one of the most dangerous Hawkman villains, Onimar Synn, an ancient devil of Thanagar who conquered planets and could drain the life energy from people, turning them into zombies under his control, that is definitely someone that could wipe out a civilization. Another problem I have is that I feel like the John Stewart and Hawkgirl relationship only really works in the DCAU, similar to how I feel about WonderBat, the ship isn't bad but it's clearly made for those versions of the characters, and while John Stewart's characterization in the DCAU has basically become the default John Stewart characterization, that version of Hawkgirl is still very specifically the DCAU's version of Hawkgirl. My final problem with this is that this story is very Hawkgirl centric, and while it could work as a Justice League film, I don't know if it would really work well as a film that will conclude the DCU because of how centered around Hawkgirl it is.
I think you have awesome thoughts, and i'd love to see some of your ideas come to life in the universe as well! thanks for watching and sharing your takes
also i think you'll find im just a massive fan of the DCU in general and am upset that it hasn't been used for inspiration more in the popular DC media
@@TheNiceGuyWoodruff There is SOOOOOOO much DC stuff ignored in popular media, even DC/WB's favorite superhero Batman has so much ignored. DC is one of the biggest fictional universes of all time, consistently releasing new stories since the late 30s and WB has just failed to capitalize on that, it's so frustrating to see potential go to waste
so many great characters who haven't had their story told yet. the one that bugs me the most is people seem scared to adapt nightwing/the whole bat family to the big screen. WB should probably hire us when you think about it
@@TheNiceGuyWoodruff The BatFamily is the main reason I'm excited for James Gunn's DCU since we're going to be seeing the BatFamily in a live action film for the first time since Batman and Robin. It's crazy to me that WB has ignored the BatFamily since then, you'd think that with how much money they make off of Batman stuff alone that they would've given us more Batfam stuff way sooner. I assume that if the DCEU was actually good and successful, we may have seen more of the BatFamily, I mean, a Batgirl film was going to release and Birds of Prey featured Huntress and Cass (even though that isn't Cass at all) so maybe we would've seen Tim get introduced, but that didn't happen. There's always the thing of fans shouldn't have too much of a say in what gets made, but that doesn't mean you straight up ignore what fans have been begging for for years. Batman Brave and the Bold better be good.
I have three Hot takes. 1. Lois Lane is Overrated. I never understood why people like her at all bc most of the time she's a bitch who is willing to do anything to get her story whether its putting herself in danger or lying and talking to others like shit. 2. Linda Park is also Overrated. she's basically just a carbon copy of Lois Lane with no distinct personality whatsoever and the only difference between her and Lois is that she used to hate Wally as Flash and she has or has had superpowers. 3. that Black Canary and Green Arrow are not good together. they're relationship is very toxic, sometimes they can work really well but other times they can work so awful and its made especially worse when Green Arrow keeps cheating on her like that one time she cheated on her with Black Lightnings niece and blamed her for it.
Good video, hope to see some more dune videos from you
No children from Chani! Write your own fictional stories.
D.V. changed the blue scarf to being a Fremen in love and then round her arm for her friend Shishakli who was in the ICU burns unit. She would have died but she had a water filled suit that saved her once Feyd left.🫤🤣🤣🤣🤦🏽♂
Im a bit worried how he's gonna go with Messiah seeing how he deviated so much from the book in Dune. Well deviated a bit and left loads out. Ive heard a theory Chani is gonna start a rebellion against Maud'Dib, as long as we get a Stage 3 Guild Navigator (Edric) a Stoneburner, Korba's death and Mohiam and Stilgar's little meeting, id be happy.
Follow the story beats of the Godfather. End with Alia taking care of unfinished family business.
Paul sees Chani will accept later only in Dune 2, book she never leaves his side as he doesn't unnecessarily humiliate her!
I want to disagree with almost everything you suggest! Your version wouldn't be Dune Messiah, even close! Think first about what the story is about! Not single events and honoring great actors at all, it's to make a serious point, Paul's utter descent to dictator to keep Chani alive and that he abandons his children, sister and friends to their fate, and his reluctance and failure to address the Golden Path to save humanity from exctintion! Name your movie something not Dune related!
I pretty just much just took events from the book and formed them together if it were a coherent movie, so not sure what you disagree on in that regard, but you are right that Messiah is about Paul's descent and so on. As for honoring great actors and all, I think it's fair to say that the movies have altered the books a bit and I was trying to propose a way that they writers could realistically adapt this novel, which will not be 1:1. Thank you for your thoughts though.
Paul foresaw that Chani would come to understand. A central plot device in Dune Messiah is the plot by Irulan (with the help of the Guild, the BG, and the Bene Tleilax) to keep Chani from getting pregnant. And, it has to continue to be central to the plot, because the sacrifice of getting the children leads to a ton of resolution for Paul, Channi, Irulan, the Fremen, basically everyone. They all have to sacrifice in order to get resolution and redemption. It is a Jesus story in the end, and Paul needs to be blinded and walk into the desert. And, that resolution is not as impactful without it being also about his relationship to Chani. There can be no Fremen revolt against Paul. There certainly can be a revolt against Alia and Paul after he becomes the Preacher (assuming it is really Paul.)
I 100% agree. I am just unsure how the writers are going to go about bringing her back to Paul. But the story has to end with a blinded Paul walking into the desert. Love the thoughts thanks man
@@TheNiceGuyWoodruff According to the book, all the Fremen have a low level prescience. Chani can have a vision where she sees that she has to help Paul find redemption through the children, specifically Leto II. And, she can see what will happen if Paul doesn't choose this path. Most of this comes true in Children of Dune, not in Messiah. But, Alia (possessed by the Baron) is the villian in both. In the end, Alia gets redemption, and so does Irulan. And, the reactionary forces plotting against Paul get what they deserve.
Regarding the prescience of the Fremen, I think that would be really cool if that was explored but the movies have seemed to brush over some of the finer points, like Paul being a mentat is hardly mentioned (if at all). I doubt they'll adapt past Messiah for film (maybe in the form of shows instead) so I think they need to wrap up the Arrakis and Paul plot in this next film without setting up too much of what Leto II accomplishes.
@@TheNiceGuyWoodruff I could see Irulan attempt to recruit Chani to betray Paul. Driving Chani back to Paul.
I wonder how a children of dune would play out
I thought the Children of Dune book was pretty wild honestly. There’s the show adaptation from the early 2000s so I don’t know if they’d re-adapt that. I think it would make for a great movie though
Leaving aside all the complications, It would be a better movie if they focus on epic love story with tender but melancholic and tragedies always looming. So people cry for hours after the movie is over. It would be this era's Titanic or Casablanca but better.
@DDR131 that does sound awesome and i think those elements could be included but i think it needs to fit into the overall political-sci-fi epic that the series in built around
@@TheNiceGuyWoodruff I think people don't gives a damn about politics in movies. It should be included but the main theme should be the relationship.
interesting things goin on in the book - idk just make it appealing
MY FAVORITE MOVIE WAS FART & BUTT
LET'S GOOOOOOOOO
This was a very well-made pitch
hey thank you
